Hello,

Just wondering what methods people out there are using for charting shot zones from what it outlined in LSW? It isn't possible or practical for me at my home club to drop 20 balls downfor each club and plot landing positions - going out to the range to pick up balls is strictly prohibited and the course is just too busy.

I have Shotscope V3 and am considering using this data for approach shots for working out my shot zones. Does anyone else do this? Below is my 8 iron dispersion. I know my dispersion is high - I'm a high handicapper for a reason

Any advice on how I can take this info and create a shot zone would be appreciated. What should I include or discount for example?

So draw an ellipse over the smallest possible 80% of the shots. Meters. What the hell?

You could rent an hour on a GC Quad or FlightScope or Trackman, and ask a full report be printed. They’ll usually do it.

I know on on Trackman you can send your entire session to yourself via email too, where you can have full access to every shot and can even filter out bad shots within the digital report and have it redraw your ellipses too.

I recommend doing it like that as well (with a FlightScope or Trackman or GC Quad or something) while picking out an actual target (you can do it with range balls so long as they're good balls).

Measuring it by the results you see on-course is okay, too. Much better than nothing. In some ways, the best thing, because you are getting actual on-course experiences. It can be a bit misleading if, for example, your course has a lot of trouble to one side on holes where you hit your 8I or something, though, as your results should be skewed away from that side with trouble.

I don't have my shot zones charted. I just kind-of know how far offline my misses are at. Its not like i pull out a yardage book with some transparent overlay that has my shot zones.
