Don't worry, there's no question who'd win in a real game, lol.

If you wanna go again, you pick the course and terms this time

I've shot 48 on several courses, including multiple holes in one. From the back tees, all the other same rules as y'all say. That's part of the reason I don't like playing the game anymore - it's not really close to real golf, unfortunately.

Have you guys played the pc versions using the true swing option?

I find it much tougher than the 3 click swing. Tough to break 60 for me with an average character.

I know what you guys mean by it being too easy...have any of you turned the 'ideal putt cam' off? I always have it off now so that i dont automatically drain 60 ft. quadruple breaking putts...makes shooting in the 60s more challenging...and it makes shooting in the 50s damn impossible

:P

I had 07 on console and i've got 08 on pc. PC doesn't have the ideal cam for putts for some reason :s. I prefer the pc game though, but if you put difficulty on medium or hard, let alone expert, if your mouse is slightly to the left or right you slice it like crazy. Does anyone know how to do proper draws/fades on the pc version? I don't know how.

For ps2 my best score for 06 was 23 under lol. It was really easy. I played with the ideal putting cam on though. makes putting really easy.

i should get the new one for my 360.

Tiger Woods 08 is alot harder. If you take swing aid off, putt preview (also known as cheating), and max out all the difficulty settings you've got yourself a pretty good golf sim. I made my own character and got bored before i even beat the Tiger World Challenge. I think i shot 59 in tournament play once. 05 was my favorite of the Tigers and i played the sh*t out of that. Maxed all the difficulties, turned off tiger vision or whatever that crap people use to cheat is. With my own guy who was a super human, maxed out attributes i shot 50, 51 quiet a bit. Now Links 2003 is a different story, anyone shoot 59 on Championship difficulty?

On 2005: 38 (front tees) and 47 (pro tees).

A friend of mine once went 36 at St. Andrews with easy conditions on 2005. Two hole in ones and an albatross.

Fore!

I can't remember what was my exact score but I do know that it was 13 Under (-13). I was owning the computer lol they were shooting like 3 Overs haha.

    • Day 8: 12/17/2024 Okay I took my new PPJ swing thought to the range today. I wasn't sure I was quite ready to do so, but I'm glad I did.  When I got it right it was good... really good. When I got it wrong it was a major fail. I hit lots of really ugly ones. But I didn't let that deter me. I stayed committed and focused on the PPJ and I avoided any temptation to go back to what I was doing before just so that I could "look" better at the range. I'm pretty excited about what I saw when I got it right.  I hit the 6 iron mostly (nearly all block work today). I also hit about 6 balls each with the PW, 8I, 5W and Driver. Those had varying degrees of success. I did crack one drive that let me feel and see what the changes will look like once I get fully trained.  Anyway, I'm going to go back to the mirror work for a couple of more days before bringing it back to the range. I do feel like if I can get this right my swing will improve a lot. So I think its worth the effort. I liked the way it looked on GEARs when I get it right, and I like the results I got at the range when I got it right. Now the goal is to work towards getting it right more often.
    • So I think it's that they can't just bend the shaft or hosel to get it to a new lie angle. They adjust that and it changes the weighting, so they have to then adjust all the weights to get it balanced again. I get the impression that it's a bit of an iterative process and they do it all in the US, so they're paying US labor costs to build it and make it work how it's supposed to. Whether you believe in the tech or not, I think that's a true statement.
    • Ah, the old EE in the backswing move. Chest going back and staying down doesn't help.
    • Extremely outward path with a very closed club face. Maybe unless you have a stupidly weak grip, like right hand way over top, I don't think the grip is necessary highly correlated to this.
