Euro-Rail With Sticks Hostels

Recommended Posts

Has anybody ever travelled Europe and stayed at hostels with sticks.

Thinking of an itinerary like this.  Arrive in the morning get checked in.  One day doing touristy stuff and hitting at least one course.

I'm not opposed to shared dorms at hostels but may just hold on to my sticks like a lover or find storage otherwise will find a private room at the hostels where affordable.

I've not been to Europe.   I've stayed at a hostel in Chicago and if the ones in Europe are like Chicago, find storage for your clubs.   You'll have peace of mind that they will be there when you are ready to play.

From the land of perpetual cloudiness.   I'm Denny

I’ve never stayed at a hostel in Europe but I know there are lockers. The kicker is they’re not big enough for clubs.

That’s a lot of stops to be dragging clubs around. I have a car when I’m in Europe and even with a car clubs were a pain.

Maybe limit where you play? Like play in mostly Western Europe. Use Stasher when you go to Eastern Europe. Bounce is another service similar to Stasher.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Way back during the early to middle 90's I was living over in Europe. I had only been playing golf only a short time at this point, but the golf bug bit me hard, so I played a lot. I tried to play in a number of different countries. What I often did was to let the course know that I needed to drop my clubs off at their course early. I'd make a tee-time on the phone, tell them I'd like to drop my clubs off at their course in the morning, or sometimes even a day or two early.

Every course except one let me do it. So, I'd swing by the course. Introduce myself. Remind them of my conversation with them and drop my clubs off. Then I'd head off and do what ever I had to do. I'd come back later that day or sometimes a day or two later and play.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.
