Tracking Club Distances

Just curious how folks track their club distances. For Driver-Lob wedge I track my carry and total distances sorted by club. For 9I-Lob I also track carry and total distance for chip and pitch. I keep it all on a card.

There is definitely overlap in carry and total distances on the short end. So I’m wondering if there is a better way to organize this stuff

I just remember them.

It varies so much by conditions, too, that I know what a stock yardage is and rarely have that. Trying to remember all of that is pointless, IMO.

I’ve been tracking my club distances for years, first on GameGolf and now on ShotScope. Those yardages are affected by conditions though so they’re not particularly useful on the course.

I know my stock yardages based on a combination of experience and launch monitor data. I play by making adjustments around that. Anything inside of 40 yards is all feel.

^^^ Pretty much this for me as well. Except 50 and in is all feel for me.

Similar to the above, but for bouncy pitch shots I have feel checkpoints going as low as 20 yards (1/4 swing feel 58*) - I find I can commit more confidently to my pitch shots that way.

Chip shots that use the leading edge and roll more are more feel based like a putt.

I pretty much go by carry distance and conditions. I know my stock yardage because I have my GC3 (indoor and on range) and before that my friend’s shop with trackman and have confirmed it all through play. I know what’s going to cause more runout or more spin and go from there. 60 yards and in is more feel based with either the SW or LW. I play a lot of golf, so it comes with the territory. 

Before launch monitors I just played enough to know my yardages. Now I can just get more into the weeds with it.

The more time I invest in nailing down a yardage is directly proportional to the chances I’ll shank it.

      Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.

      Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.

      Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
