Today I mourn the loss of my beloved Shot Scope H4. He was last seen on the 5th tee at Lake Buena Vista GC in Orlando. I remember holding him in my hand, looking into his little LED lit face and then like that he was gone. When I went to click him on my next shot he was not there. After a less than through search it was determined to leave the fallen comrade behind. RIP my dear friend, you will be missed, but quickly replaced.

That’s too bad. I’ve dropped mine but always seemed to find it.

Of course, they are sold out of the H4, some website has it at full price but I try to never pay full price. The X5 watch seems like a good option but people complain about the button being pressed to easily accidentally, mixed reviews. Oh well, I'll just wait it out. I remember the days when you tracked your shots by memory.

Your memory also gave you strokes gained stats and benchmark comparisons, too? I’m impressed.

Yes, and all of my drives were +280, I never missed a fairway, and I hit my 7 iron 185 yards. If memory serves me correct.😃

My ShotScope data could say that about my game, too. Just sayin’ 😉

    • I think you're underestimating the lateral accuracy of mid/high handicaps even with wedges in hand.
    • Option 1 for 8 iron and above. (150 yards and above), Option 2 for 9 iron and below. To pick one, since 75% or my irons are 9 iron or less (I play my rounds at 6,000-6,200 yards 90% times), I would settle for Option 2. Basically under Option 1 a 15 yards dispersion left or right for short irons and wedges would be terrible. I mean who wants to hit half wedges 15 yards left or right? That would make me quit golf. But OTOH the +/-10% (10 yards long/short variance but dead straight) would be manageable.
    • Day 234: Quick range session. Working on lower body stuff in the backswing. Looking slightly better, but going to need more work. I do think I lost a bit of my previous wrist stuff in the backswing while practicing, so something to keep an eye on.
    • First option, easily. ± 15 yards with an 8I is unacceptably poor. Every iron would basically overlap two other irons plus a little into the other one (max of one, min of the one two irons away).
    • I'd still take the first option. Knowing exactly how far your ball is going to carry every single time is huge.  Plus an average dispersion of 30yds isn't that big, that's still going to result in the overwhelming majority of your shots on the green.
