Final Driver Choice

Hi all,

I've managed to narrow down my drivers to either the Taylormade Burner or the Ping G10. I can hit both fairly well, with the Burner having more carry but going much higher and stopping quicker, and the G10 with less carry but a medium-low trajectory and a fair amount of roll.

Has anyone tried both or either of them and has any comments?

i had to make exact same decision a couple months ago and i decided on the g10 because my course can get very windy and the g10 had a lower more penetrating trajectory and it was able to maintain distance through the wind while also i found the g10 suited my eye better at address i have the g10 but my friend is getting a burner its all about what you hit the best

If they are both traveling the same distance and you hit them both with similar accuracy, I would choose the Burner. I would rather carry my drive 260 than carry it 245 + 15 roll in most circumstances.

I have a g5 and just purchased a 4dx Nickent driver for the lower ball flight trajectory. Sounds like the g10 does the same thing. The head of my 4dx looks almost identical to the g5 at address. I plan to keep the g5 in case I want to play a higher ball flight on certain courses.

Thats one of the fun things about golf, changing out our toys.

the G10 is a really nice club. i liked the feeling at impact, and it had a sweet sound to it also,plenty long too.

I had the same choice. I found both clubs were pretty similar.
In the end I went with the G10 because it was available with more shaft options and over here it was about £50 ($100) cheaper.

I just traded my Burner for a G10 if that tells you anything. I hit the G10 on a Trackman launch monitor and the G10 had lower spin and gave me 5 mph more ball speed on average. I launched both about the same, but got a little more carry and a lot more roll out of the G10.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I chose the G10 in the end after taking it out with my pro. Really enjoying it so far.
