vBulletin 3.5.1 Upgrade - Waiting on Skin

The vBulletin 3.5.1 upgrade is done, and I'm currently awaiting the update to the Tech Two skin. News is here if you too want to follow along to see when the update comes out.

In the meantime, I've disabled QuickReply - it worked, but didn't display that it had worked properly. Some other things are a little flaky as well... When the theme is updated, things should work okay, and those that don't I can fix with some amount of confidence that they won't be broken immediately thereafter.

Post here if you see issues, though, and I can check them out after the theme is updated to see if it's been fixed or not. My list, off the top of my head, includes:
  1. The navigation menus don't always pop down
  2. The menu on usernames doesn't always work (ever?)
  3. QuickReply is borked
  4. I haven't changed every color back to what it was set to before

If you have a suggestion there (bear in mind I can customize it quite a bit, the colors and graphics), look at Element, Aria, Afterdark, or Satellite at vbstyles.com and let me know which one you like the most.

BTW, for at least a little while - a day or two, maybe - this is the stand-in style. It isn't as broken. Though, for some reason, QuickReply still doesn't work, really.

Aria and Satellite are both pretty good. Actually, this isn't too bad... just a little color tweaking and icon work and it'd be up to snuff.

I like our current look so long as the colors can be tweaked a little, is this Element? Well I like Element and Aria

This is Aria. It has a few problems, too - QuickReply still doesn't work and Edit in place doesn't either.

      I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.

      Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
