Depends on if her shirt is tucked in

Yeah - they can, if they are the type of woman to monopolize your time or if you have to promise the world to them so they "let" you take the day and golf. You think more about that than what you are supposed to be enjoying.

Well I quit playing after I got married, so I guess in my case a woman seriously screwed up my game. It turns out though that having children can actually improve one's game. It takes a little while but now that my sons are older (11 and 9) they have taken up the game and I'm playing again.

Must be one of those circle of life thingys?

Marrying one can definitely cut into your playing time. But for me that included buying a house and all the time involved in with that too. Maintaining a house and a relationship will certainly take time away from other recreational activities, at least for a while. I had managed 46 years of bachelorhood, so it was all a big change for me.

But now my game is essentially back to where it was when I got married 15 years ago.... it just took retirement to accomplish that...

Yeah - I started to cultivate an active interest in golf back in 2002. At that time the wife (now ex) started her issues and all my spare time was taken up dealing with that BS.

Oh and btw - I happened to be living in Monterey Ca at the time so - perfect time to get involved and perfect place but she (a woman) screwed it up - so yeah they can.

My bittie is really supportive, she always tells me to go practice and she goes to the range with me sometimes.

My wife golfs with me so for the most part she is cool about me playing all the time. It is only my boss that screws up my game with his phone calls while he thinks I am supposed to be working.

Ask Tony Romo what a woman can do to your game.

Ha. No, seriously, though... If golf is more of a mental game than a physical game, than anything that gets in your head can mess you up. And what can get in your head more than a woman? They usually know every button to push.

Was halfway through a very slow round the other day and was supposed to be meeting herself for dinner, rang her and said what time did she wanna meet at that I was gonna leave golf now because it was gonna take another 2 hours before we were finished. She just said finish the game and that she would make me dinner. (And she meant it). Was in shock all evening.

I have a friend that I grew up with that his new woman has completely ruined his game, and pretty much his life as far as I am concerned. Controlling, vindictive s1ut. Really makes me sad. Personally, being a relative newlywed of 1.5 years by wife honestly does not care when I play. Which must be kind of strange, all the guys I play with cannot believe she does not get upset as much as I play. I have never been from the school of having to spend every waking second with the other person, so it isn't strange to me.

Yes girls do screw up your game.....LOL

I played high school golf and junior tournaments a lot between the ages of 13-18. I had aspirations of playing college and national amateurs. I was about a 4 handicap. At about 17 I really was pursuing chicks and found myself missing the junior Gateway PGA events or being tired because I was out all night. I was also kicked off the high school team because my grades were horrible, mainly do to the fact of being immature and only caring about having fun. I went to a "college prep" school so you had to have a 2.0 to play sports. Not me..haha.

Well I started dating a chick when I was 18 and got my shit together education wise. Never had time for golf or cared. I graduted 4 years later. At that point I regained focus for golf and have been back playing for 2 1/2 years. My game is back to where it was at, if not better. I dont regret ditching golf to have fun. Some people can do both, I could not. I blame it on being immature, rather fully because of girls. Girls are just one aspect of having fun and I am sure someone could manage it all.

So I ditched golf for girls...got married to the girl I ditched golf for...Now, have the girl and play golf every weekend...

So I guess it all works out in the end LOL

I am single and I'll hang out with girls alot.
It's funny what one of my best friends said. He told me that the way a round of golf goes will determine how I feel with the ladies. If I'm swinging nicely and sinking some putts my confidence with girls is at a huge high. However if I'm sucking I lose a lot of confidence and I'm a failure with the ladies.

    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
    • I agree with @klineka & @DaveP043 above.  When a new member first joins the club they cold be told that they are not eligible for tournaments until they have an established HCP.  As you said, it only takes a few rounds.  If they do not to post HCP that was their choice and choices have consequences.  If playing in the tournament is important to them then they should step up and establish an HCP.  Maybe they miss the 1st tournament, is that a real big deal?  And if it is a "Big Deal" to them then they had the opportunity to establish the HCP. As for not knowing how to report for HCP I assume your club has a pro and they should be able to assist in getting the scores reported and I suspect out of state courses may also have staff that can assist if asked.

    • Cool here's my tweak, "If a player’s ball lies in the general area and there is interference from exposed tree roots or exposed rocks that are in the fairway or 1 club length from the fairway the tree roots and exposed rocks are treated as ground under repair. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1b.[But relief is not allowed if the tree roots only interfere with the player’s stance.]
    • I would never do the extended warranty on the $50 slow cooker.  I also routinely reject the extended service plans on those toys we buy for the grand-kids.  I do consider them on higher cost items and will be more likely to get one if the product has a lot of "Electronic Tech" that is often the problem longer-term.  I also consider my intended length of ownership & usage.  If my thought is it would get replaced in 2-3 years then why bother but if I hope to use it for 10 years then more likely to get the extension. I did buy out a lease about a year ago.  Just prior to the lease end date the tablet locked up and would not function.  I got it repaired under the initial warranty and would not have bought it out if they had not been able to fix it since IMO once electronic issues start in a car they can be hard to track down & fix.  They did fix it but when I bought out the lease I paid up for the extended warranty the would cover electronic failures because my intent is to keep that car for another 8-10 years and I just do not trust the electronics to last.  Last week the touch screen went black and was unresponsive.  It reset on the 2nd time I restarted the car but that is exactly how the last malfunction started.  I fully expect to have a claim on that on repair under the extended warranty.  I do not recall the exact cost to fix last time since I did not pay it but I think it was @ $700-$800 and I suspect that will be higher next time.
