If I had to guess, it will be hard to keep Georgia and Ohio State from being at the top.

I am open for debate and discussion on that one.

SEC is too tough. Ohio State will get stomped by USC at the beginning of the season. They better not make it this next year or I will be pissed.

USC vs SEC school with one loss.

so long a tOSU doesn't make the Champ game, I'm cool with whomever.
I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

Georgia is preseason #1 with an impossible schedule. If they make it out with 1 loss, they'll win the national championship.

OSU will beat USC in the opener and proceed to lose somewhere in their schedule (Michigan choke?)

USC and Oklahoma will be the likely opponents, both with 1 loss, but OU gets the nod for winning a conference championship game.

If Georgia doesn't make it out (LSU and Florida back to back) then Florida will be in the BCS Championship and win.

I threw my clubs into the lake so it's time to start over...

OSU may very well lose somewhere in their schedule, but it won't be to scUM. OSU in a romp in Columbus.

If I had to choose, it would be USC. Sept. 13th will be the NC game.

  • 2 weeks later...
It would be ironic if Ohio State manages to win the national championship and rub it in the groaners' faces.

Being the Michigan and Georgia Tech fan that I am, I really don't want to see a UGA-OSU title game. Neither of my teams are going to come an arm's length of the rankings this season, so I'll have to find two schools that I don't have ill will towards to put my chips in with. So, let's say, Mizzou and Florida.

HAHA, I like what you did there. You took "UM" like the abbreviation for University of Michigan and put "sc" in front of it so it looked like the word scum! HA! You're funny.

But seriously, who's the all-time leader in D1 College football wins, I can't seem to find it anywhere. Oh, that's right, it's the same school that's currently number 25 in the U.S. News college rankings, whereas OSU sits silently at 57. Since you're an OSU fan, I'm assuming you're not very bright so let me put this as simply as I can: 25<57 Scum indeed... Hail to the victors! [/sarcasm]

See us Ohio State fans know a comeback to that, which ends all debates these days.

Four in a row.

End of story, good night, Go Bucks. The only thing that can be said is, "You lose in the big games." Well, guess what. 1. the only reason you're not losing those games is because we beat you to get there and 2. What were you doing while we were getting beat, but playing? Watching at home.

And to put the second nail in the coffin (ya know...just for kicks) - APPY STATE BABY.

My honest, writers prediction is Ohio State 35 Florida 27. Look at the facts before calling me a homer. Georgia seems fantastic on offense but they seem like the easy pick with a lot of guys wanting the ball - not a good combo for college.

And by the way - reports from OSU camp is that Pryor is emerging as a leader, and has shown no ego at all - even playing some daring games with all-american CB Malcolm Jenkins. He seems like a team guy, and I'm hoping he gets some serious playing time in our first two games so he can come in for 2-5 plays against USC, decoy or not.

As for the Michigan game - I hate saying one team will kill the other because in the greatest rivalry in sports, the talent level gets pretty evened out for that game. But, when Rich Rod said "I'm a Michigan man," he jumped into his own grave. All Tressel needs to say: Show Rich Rod what Ohio State, and this rivalry, is all about." BOOM - in The Horseshoe...it's over.

Michigan scored 3 points last year. We lost an OLB and DE, they lost their top 2 QB's, RB, WR, OL...Michigan will have a very solid defensive secondary, but they can't stop Beanie...he may have three straight games of 200 yards (I doubt it), but UM hasn't shown they can stop him.

Well played, sir, and I would be more upset if I was more of a Michigan fan rather than just an OSU hater. I'm a Michigan State fan myself, I just hate the Buckeyes a teeeeeny bit more than Michigan so I argue for UofM when the debate arises.

Trust me, though, no one was happier about the Appalaichain State game than I was.

Good deal - I actually very much hate MSU as well (friend, who is a dick sometimes, is a fan of them), so I root against the Spartans whenever I can (except when they play UM and ND).

I was at the MSU game last season where OSU nearly had one of their worst debacles (not to take away anything from the Spartans, they played well in that second half) in recent memory.

    • A couple of things.  Some of the clubs in your bag should be dropped immediately.  A 2-iron for example with what obviously seems to be a lower swing speed or possibly not great swing yet is a definite no-no.  To be hitting that 120-140 yards, which I assume includes run, is a sign that you are not getting the ball airborne at the correct angle to maximise distance.  The reason your 3 and 5 hybrid are going the same distance is that your launch angle is better with the 5.  Loft is your friend. Ideally I would suggest going to a golf or sporting store where you can hit golf balls on a simulator without being disturbed to understand your club carry distances and hopefully swing speed.  With that information we can definitely guide you better.
    • Let us be clear, unless you have proof of cheating, you just sound like a case of sour grapes.  In our club we have a guy who won club titles for many years.  Yes, he was a low single digit handicapper, but there have been quite a few others who played at his level.  Yet his mental strength and experience helped him win in many years when he shouldn't have.  Did he sandbag.  DEFINITELY NOT.  Did he just minimize his mistakes and pull out shots as and when needed.  Definitely.
    • Day 111 - Worked on my grip and higher hands in the backswing. Full swings with the PRGR.
    • First off please forgive me if this is not a proper post or not in the proper location, still learning the ropes around here. Second, it's important that I mention I am very new to the game with only about 10 rounds of golf under my belt, most being 9 holes. Only this year have I started playing 18. That being said, I am hooked, love the game and am very eager to learn and improve. To give you an idea of my skill, the last 2 18 rounds I played were 110 and 105. Not great at all, however I am slowly improving as I learn. Had been having bad slicing issues with the driver and hybrids but after playing some more and hitting the range, I've been able to improve on that quite a bit and have been hitting more straight on average. Irons have always come easier to me as far as hitting straight for some reason. Wedges have needed a lot of improvement, but I practice chipping about 20-30 mins about 3-5 times a week and that's helped a lot. Today I went to the range and started to note down some distance data, mind you I am averaging the distances based off my best guess compared to the distance markers on the range. I do not currently own a range finder or tracker. From reading some similar posts I do understand that filling gaps is ideal, but I am having a some issues figuring out those gaps and understanding which clubs to keep and remove as some gaps are minimal between clubs. Below is an image of the chart I put together showing the clubs and average distances I've been hitting and power applied. For some reason I am hitting my hybrids around the same distances and I am not sure why. Wondering if one of them should be removed. I didn't notice a huge loft difference either. The irons I have are hand me downs from my grandfather and after playing with them a bit, I feel like they're just not giving me what could potentially be there. The feel is a bit hard/harsh and underwhelming if that makes sense and I can't seem to get decent distances from them. Wondering if I should be looking to invest in some more updated irons and if those should be muscle backs or cavity backs? My knowledge here is minimal. I have never played with modern fairway woods, only the classic clubs that are actually wood and much smaller than modern clubs. I recently removed the 4 and 5 woods from my bag as I was never using them and I don't hit them very well or very far. Wondering if I should look into some more modern fairway wood options? I appreciate any feedback or advice anyone is willing to give, please forgive my lack of knowledge. I am eager to learn! Thank you.
    • I would think that 3 in a row with the same players might get some behind the scenes examination from the SCGA if they were suspect.  Are there any clubs questioning the results?
