What are the best golf bags you would suggest buying and why? I am looking to buy a new stand bag even though I use a cart more often than not. thanks

I own an Ogio Edge.

I'd highly recommend it. Its a stand bag but is a little on the heavier side, but it comes with a bunch of features.

It has a ball silo on the side of your bag and the front ball pocket isnt zippered...it just snaps shut...so you dont have to zipper and unzipper to reach for balls.

it comes with a fleece lined valuables pocket and internal cell phone holder as well as a pretty innovative rain hood.

the only detraction is that the dividers dont run all the way down...so the irons sometimes get bunched up.

I have a Callaway Warbird Hot standbag and I'm very pleased with it. Has 8 dividers, magnetic ball pocket (no zipper), comes with a rain hood and has large pockets for valuables (fleece lined) and waterproofs, gloves etc. Also has an insulated pocket for keeping your water cool during a round. The flip down terra-firma base also keep the whole thing level on un-even ground

I own a Nike Extreme sport (last years model), I really like it's weight, pockets and straps BUT, if you play 14 clubs that ain't for you, there are 6 dividers at the top but only 4 are going all the way and the clubs get tangled quite often.
it's also a bit wierd to put on a cart if you want the pockets to face towards the back, I usually invert all my clubs if I'm to ride to counter that. If I had known what I now know I wouldn't have gotten that bag(mostly cause I didn't expect to get to 14 clubs that soon and that there are no tangling at 12 or less clubs)

hope this helps

Have the callaway warbird hot, but have (coming for my b-day) the sun mountain 3.5, its really light for walking, and has all the features of the warbird at less weight, and liked the colors a little better. Don't think you could go wrong with ogio, sun mountain, titleist, or callaway. Heard pings weren't so great.

Same bag.....bought it a couple months ago due to the strong recomendations on here. My father and I played a couple of rounds together over July 4th week and he liked it so much that he bought one from his courses pro-shop. It's identical to mine only it has his course's crest/logo stiched into one of the side pockets.

The Warbird Hot Stand bags are super. So far I've used mine several rounds on a golf cart and four rounds on my pushcart. It does super with all. The bag stands fully upright with no problem, too. In fact mine is standing ready near the back door at all times!!!!! Well laid out bag. It is even better now that I hooked the lower strap from the lowest to the top positon...now it'll sling over one shoulder like all the traditional bags do. I don't carry my clubs on the course so the dual strap feature isn't needed. Hard to beat this bag...especially for just over a hundred bucks. Lots of great choices out there...but I don't see how you can go wrong with this one.

I have the nike SasQuatch Tour bag, its really nice. Its kind of like a hybrid bag meaning that it has alot of pockets like a cart bag but is a stand bag, its pretty light for this type of bag at 5.5 pounds.

it has 14 individual dividers that run all the way down so your clubs dont get tangled, a cooler pocet, scorecard pocket, pencil pocket, marker pocket, etc..

also has a wide variety of colors. Overall great bag

Let me just introduce myself by saying that I caddy just about everyday in the summer as well as weekends while I am in school. In my experience (4 years of caddying) PING bags are by far the best.

PINGs have a lot of dividers for clubs, their storage pockets seem adequate, the straps are absolutely amazing, they stand well, and they are light. Though you ride, I recommend PING.

Some other good options are Titleist and Ogio.

I use a Nike Slingshot cart bag it's nice has lot of storage (fit my shoes in a large side pocket), full length dividers which I love etc. I bought a stand bag for walking that still has large pockets like a cart bag but the only downside is no 14 individual full length dividers. That one is a white/blue/red Tourstage (Bridgestone Japan) which looks very funky.

    • StuM,  I have, in the past, added a left handed club. (Ususally a 7 iron) However, I usually take a stroke penalty and move the ball to where I want it.  I play for fun and in a pinch can use theback side if my club if I don't want the penalty stroke.    RetiredOldMan,  Terry
    • So, Brendan Sorsby, Texas Tech transfer QB, was found guilty of sports betting by the NCAA. He admitted to it. He placed thousands of bets over multiple years while at Indiana and Cincinnati. This included betting on his own teams.  The NCAA rules ban athletes from betting on any sport (college or pro).  A retired visiting judge from Tarrant County, Texas has put an injunction on the NCAA ruling. He is a visiting judge because the first judge was a graduate and big fan of Texas Tech, and he recused himself. The judged ruled the following... "Under Curry's order, Sorsby is permitted to play for Texas Tech's 2026 season on the condition that he continues his treatment for a gambling and anxiety disorder and serves a two-game suspension (missing games against Abilene Christian and Oregon State)."  Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly care for the NCAA. That still doesn't mean that a college can choose when or where to say, "Yea we agree to these rules for all our sports, well except in this case." Here is a breakdown from S&W. The Hidden Weapon in Sorsby’s Injunction: How a Lubbock County Court Order Quietly Neutralized the NCAA’s Most Powerful Enforcement Tool - Law Offices of Snell & Wilmer By Ryan J. Regula On June 8, 2026, Lubbock County District Court Judge Ken Curry issued a temporary injunction in Brendan Sorsby v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, Cause No. DC-2026-CV-0791 (99th Judicial District... The main judgement made sense. Sorsby, I am going to have all this harm done to me if I don't get to play. The Judge, I agree. The penalty for gambling is too harsh, so here are all these things you must do, and I will grant this injunction against the NCAA. Basically, an analogy would be when a person goes into court for a DUI and they agree to all these other things to not end up in jail.  What sucks for the NCAA is the NCAA has appealed to Texas’ Seventh Court of Appeals, based in Amarillo. All four justices that preside over the court are graduates of Texas Tech University School of Law. It would be hilarious if all four of them had to recuse themselves 🤣. For those who like to read legal rulings...
    • The chatter in my brain is when the distance is between clubs since I am pretty weak at shortened backswings, etc. I try to simply decide if being long or short is the better outcome and choose my club based on that and simply not even try for the “real” distance.  For me a full normal swing is what I strive for.
    • I saw this comment made in a golf article... "Most golfers stand over a 4- or 5-iron still negotiating with themselves. They think about how hard to swing, whether they have the right club, if they have the aim correct and more. It’s a lot to deal with and long irons punish the “half-in” golf swing." I am not sure the "most golfers" is correct regarding the bolded part. I can understand if there is a bunker, water, and/or OB that a lot of golfers would be fixated on that. I am not sure that leads to ending up more times there. Pending your level in golf, the variance is so large in outcomes, it could be just with in the expected outcomes. I can understand if have a big lake on the right side of the hole being one of the most terrifying shots for right-handed amateur golfers.  I am not sure many golfers are standing over the ball talking to themselves, "Ok, maybe I should step back and pull the 4-iron. Am I lined up right? Oh, the wind came up, should I swing harder? What am I going to have for dinner tonight, maybe steak. (Joking, somewhat 😛)" A question is that how much chatter do you get while standing over the ball. Are you questioning the everything about your golf shot?
