I changed my foursome on Monday evening based on the golfers that ESPN said would be playing. I did forget that the tournament started today, though, and now I have four golfers selected whom none of are actually playing. Guess I'll be dropping to the bottom of the group.

I dunno, Jeff will give you a run for your money for that bottom spot.

I know what you mean about benching a guy that ends up doing pretty well.
I wanted to use chad campbell, but after he choked at the end of the Sony Open, I was hesitant to use him, but I benched him...Now he's the best one playing...

Yep... I went in and changed everything earlier this week and I'm still stuck with the hacks I had that first glorious week. Obviously I'm fantasy league challenged.

Well, the bonus point tournaments really can carry you. I'm in 5th place overall and skipped one entire week and only managed 30-something points in the other. The two bonus point weeks my team did great, though.

You're in fifth IN OUR GROUP, of course. You're 3688th overall.

Man oh man. Last night, I was trying to decide between Bubba Watson or Luke Donald as my 4th man and I decided to go with Bubba because these 3 courses tend to favor the big hitters. When I checked the leaderboard during my free hour today I was furious when I saw Luke had gone -6 after 5 holes. I would've been 18 under instead of 11!!! ARGH!!!

I'm mailing it in for the rest of segment 1.

Can you say "too far back to catch up"? I made the cut, at least, being in the top 50%. Barely.

Man this week is tough to pick. I had to change my entire roster as I'm sure some others may have to as well. Should be an interesitng week for the picks.

Hmm strange. Bubba Watson and Camilo Villegas are both in the field, but not on ESPN's player's list. There go two solid picks.

Well I noticed that as well. There were also probably about 5 others I wanted to pick that are in the field but not on the roster to pick. Plus there are alot of golfers on the roster that are not in the field.

Not sure about that.

scary thing is - the best player on my team (highest "Birdie/Round" with 4.25 ) is.... David Duval. I really do stink at it, don't I

They should have done some kind of pick'em thing this week for the Match Play Championship. I know some folks may watch the Chrysler Classic, but not me.

It's all about the Match Play Championship for me.

Oh well, my first segment has stunk anyway. I'll just throw together 4 guys.

    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
