Wow, Golfheaven, the two of us have shifted the demographics to almost 5% for our age group! I am newly turned 54, have never swung a golf club, but am embarking on that adventure next week...

I need two more posts before I can actually post and ask some (many) questions.

I'm an 18 year old trapped in a 26 year olds body that feels 40 at times. Does that make sense?

In my standbag:

F Speed LD Mens 3 Wood 15.5° Graphite Design Tour AD YS Stiff

3H 20° Baffler Pro DCi irons 4-PW + S Rosa putter

As an older (41-50) player I find this pretty spectacular.

Many perceive golf as an old man's game, but the age range spread on this Web site completely defies that view.

I'm glad in that respect, that a lot of young folk are coming into the game to keep it vital.

55. I have been playing for 43 years. I was a lower handicap years ago, but work and family reduced me to a once every couple of weeks player. Within the past few years I have been playing once per week, and am getting back into the low mid 80's. I would like to get in the upper 70's this year.

I'm down to a 10 handicap. At this rate, I'll get to scratch at 90 years old!

    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.
    • Day 4: 3/26/25 Par4Success workout followed by putting through 50 mm gates.
    • Day 249: did a stack putting session and then worked on 5 foot putts for a bit.
    • Day 17 (26 Mar 25) -  Big day working on a project at church - therefore it was grab some time with the 9i in the backyard working on pitch and runs later in the day.  Focused on keeping the ball flighted to get some good rollout.  Hit about 20 shots doing that and then moved to the 54 to keep working on getting good torso rotation and not flipping through it.  Was not perfect as there were some bloopers and fliers but overall a good session on distance control.
    • Day 177 - 2025-03-26 Hit some slower drivers and some little wedges today. Drivers were to show the dumb side of my brain (the subconscious side) that the downswing works just fine.
