I need a new driver. When I started playing I bought a used dunlop driver for about 20 bucks. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, but I am getting better and I have tried my friends drivers and I can see that I hit those a lot better. So I want to buy a new driver. I will probably buy it on the internet since its much cheaper for me. I hope some of you will recommend a driver that you believe is good and tell me why you think its good?

Price range is 0-350 dollars.

Thanks

Why don't you just go a demo different drivers and see what works for you?

What I or anyone else thinks is great you may think is rubbish.

If you are going to get down to a 5, I suggest you try out every driver you can and see which one fits the best for you. Good luck

+1

a good fitter will be able to fit your swing speed shaft length loft and you will also be given the opportunity to hit several different drivers and pick the one that you like best.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

Okay. I will try to do this. I just hate to pay soooooo much for the driver compared to the uk or u.s.. To give you an idea of the price difference, I paid 900 bucks for my wilson di7's...

Btw. I'm going to florida in oktober and i've noticed that a lot of ya'll in here is from there. I'm looking to buy a lot of golf clothes and maybe a 52 wedge while i'm there. If anybody from around there could tell me where to go to get the best for a good price i'd appreciate it. I know florida is big but i'll visit almost any part of it. So no matter where your favorite store is, please let me know.

thanks

I'll throw a vote in for Taylormade drivers, but everyone is different. Definitely go demo as many as you can in Golf Smith or something. Be careful about fakes when purchasing online as well.

Sorry if I sound confused, but can't you order from the internet in Denmark? Is there some impediment to trying out a bunch of drivers at your local golf store and then -- instead of buying one for $900 in Denmark -- getting on the internet and going to TGW.com or Callaway Preowned or even Ebay and buying the one you liked the best for $170?

    • Day 21 - Good session with driver and 6i. Hitting real golf balls is quite a bit different from the foam balls, still getting used to that change.
    • There are so many videos comparing and contrasting everything that I am both overwhelmed and more than a bit skeptical. Your comments above are much more valuable than hours of you-tube videos. Generally speaking, I’d much prefer to read something that someone took the time and trouble to write (such as your comments) than a bunch of videos, or worse, meaningless reviews that seem like they are all cut and paste selections of the same script. I’m more of a RTFM type than a watcher of “instructional” videos. By way of explanation, I don’t watch TV either.  So thanks - I’ll take that under advisement. I have an H3 that I bought for $10 that I’ve been carrying around but not sure why. Seems like a cool club, but I just don’t really know what to do with it.
    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.
    • Day 4: 3/26/25 Par4Success workout followed by putting through 50 mm gates.
    • Day 249: did a stack putting session and then worked on 5 foot putts for a bit.
