It's the little accomplishments in golf and life that make us happy, isn't it? Like that time you hit the flag stick while chipping damn thing allmost went in, didn't it? Yeah I got a 9 on that Par 5, so what? Did you see my 42ft. putt for birdie on the last hole? Woo Hoo I got a 49 on a Par 34 see I told I could break 100. Why we use a Mulligian your out there to have fun, so have fun. Yes- I enjoy Golf. If golf wasn't around some other extremely differcult sport we would find. Humans like a challenge!

Such a trivial, frivilous pursuit.

It is truly addictive, and I guess that is why it is common for people to say "they got the BUG".

I run through the full rollercoaster of emotions when playing and yep that includes happiness. I'm trying to control the mental side better so that I'm less frustrated when I don't hit it so good.

Golf is a common factor in the two most important relationships in my life; my wife and my dad. Doesn't mean that without golf the relationships wouldn't be as good but its great that the people I love are as passionate about golf as I am and this also contributes to my happiness, and theirs I hope!

I love playing golf, but its very stressful to me. I don't really play just for fun. I'm always looking to play my best and shoot the lowest scores possible.

I tend to go along with this, golf to me is becoming a desire to find out whats going wrong with my game as opposed to enjoying whats good or improving about my game. Its becoming more of obsession that a pastime/sport. I'm always thinking 'what went wrong' with a particular round.

I also play mostly at w/ends and hate slow play, it gets so annoying and frustrating, can't play weekdays.

I actually gave up golf when my kids were about 3 through 13 because of the time element. When I came back to it in my mid 40's, I had a new found appreciation for the game.

I can't say I was any less happy not playing for 10 years. But I believe I am happier now playing, than if wasn't playing now. Tracking my stats, interacting with golf professionals and downloading golf videos to my I-phone has contributed to raising the happiness level.

Yes, golf can provide happiness... a measure of happiness. I, personally, don't think it's the "end all" to happiness but, it can help (for many, it's a major contributor to happiness). It has been covered in other posts... there are other things that can enhance happiness outside the ropes; however, only with golf can there can be a bunch of things all rolled into one sport/game: outdoors, family/friends, competition, fun, traditions, etiquette, trust, honesty, you all know the rest...

For me, it's being able to watch my playing partners hit good shots or, not... especially, sons, brothers, and good friends. Sharing in all our common and individual accomplishments and frustrations; learning from others I play with. Competing at the level we wish to compete; or, playing with no competition at all. Being outside enjoying nature, walking, observing how designers challenge the golfer, and how well the course superintendants and staff keep the course in shape. It all leads to happiness and well-being for me.

It makes me happy looking forward to playing, and the interaction and relationships with people. Also makes me happy to reflect on the game and strategize how to improve. I enjoy tracking my stats, watching videos and speaking with professionals. Golf, among many things in life, make me happier.

Yes, golf makes me happy. I agree with all the posts about exercise, conradship, etc. But, I also enjoy playing new courses and seeing the unique design ideas. Most of all I enjoy nature, the plant, the birds and specially the animals. I have seen snakes, fox, coyotes, deer, alligators, etc. on the courses. It beat walking around a city.

Always happy to get out golfing . Would be even happier if I played a bit better but that will come . I am going to take lessons in the new year so that should help or at least I hope it does

Golf makes me happy. I love the feeling of striking the ball, I love the strategizing on the course to eliminate strokes, I love the smell of the grass, I love walking with the weight of the bag on my shoulder, particularly in the late afternoon while the shadows lengthen and the day cools. Now I wish it was light out so I could go play.
