I only have a few major goals for this year. Being that i am posting this in may, ill give my goals i want to have accomplished by the end of this year.

1. Win a tournament
2. Find a sponsor to cover my entry fees and travel expenses.
3. Consistently make money on my mini tour im involved with
4. Be in position to start 2010 playing golf fulltime, for my career.

I know #4 sounds very far fetched, but honestly to me its not. I practice daily, and have a full practice facility at my disposal to use daily. So I wont have any issues improving my game, and working on it daily.

I really want to make golf my career. I might not make it all the way and tee it up on the PGA Tour, but in the state of Florida, there are so many different mini-tours now that it is very easy for a person with a good golf game to play full time and be successful. And by being successful on these mini tours, its only going to open the door for me to move my way up and work towards teeing it up with the big boys

To hit a drive that doesn't hit a tree. HEEHEE

Duffy,

Striving every day to be the person my dogs think I am.

Driver; Ping G25, Fairway, Ping G25 3; Irons, Mizuno M59, wedges, Cleveland cg15, 54, 56, 60, Putter; See More Zack style.

I hope to play more.. though I doubt it will happen cause life is getting busier!

I was asked:
"What is your handicap?"
I replied:
"Golfing is my handicap!"

I'd like to just play more than once every other week. But we all know that takes money, and that's not an abundant resource atm

A Work in Progress:

Bag: Physics Stand Bag (ebay dirt cheap special)
Driver: Knight GTi Tour 285 10*

-focus on every shot in a relaxed state of mind
-mentally accept each result
-get my handicap under 5(my eventual longer term goal is a 2.4 one day be able to qualify for a US Am)
-more consistent ballstriking for more GIR's

I never swung a club until ten months ago. My goal is to try and break 100 before my "rookie year" is over. PB is 106. I have 2 months left to go.

Play more golf.

Raise GIR.

Better chips from close (up the up-and-downs).

Putter: Odyssey 2-ball

I have never swung a club untill less than 7 months ago so my goals may seem meager. I play on a 9 hole par 31 muni.
1. Break 50 (I did this today, my first time out ever, with a 44)
2. Birdie a hole
3. Beat my little brother who got me into the game.

I am brand spanking new to golf so my goals are simple; Practice, practice, and practice. Lets see how it goes :)

2009 Goals:
1.Buy a quality driver. This is done (with my new Pinemeadow BK)! Up until now I have never paid over $40 for a driver, and this was $120.
2.Re-grip my clubs and with oversized grips. This is done! I had not re-gripped my clubs in several years.
3.Learn to hit good shots with the new grips & driver. In progress.
4.Shoot at least three rounds below my lifetime best of 85. My norm has been 92-94
5.At least one birdie per month.
6.Continue teaching my three grandsons to play golf; we have done one round this year so far.

1. Get rid of my bad slice

4. Putting

1) Get my HCap down
2) Fix my swing so I dont hit right all the time (I dont get my wrists around on time)
3) consistantly break 100

I've been playing for 1 year or thereabouts and have a 27 hcap. I always seems to hit irons to the right of where intended and I often slice my drives really really far to the right. All to do with my wrists a pro told me. I have a baby due any day now so I may not make these goals, I will try though!

1) Become consistent, in both my shots and my scores
2) Shoot under 100, and stay there (I have 2 rounds where my penalty shots kept me above 100)
3) Upgrade my irons, I currently use a really old set that my wife got for $10 at a yard sale.
4) Get a real handicap.

3 is not that important to me, it is not the clubs that are holding me back. A new set would just be nice.
I hope to break 100 this year, and be able to drive the ball straight.

Getting better........

To lower my handicap at least 6.0 if possible. Just got my new sticks after hitting an older set of Nicklaus and Pings for the past 7 years.

    • Day 316 - More swings, full backswing and full finish.
    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
