I've had 9-which is more than someone at my level should. I've always had above-average length with the driver, plus decent with the 3 wood or hybrid from the fairway, so I've gotten lucky enough to reach in two quite a few times. 5 have been short putts, 1 hole out from 119, and a few long putts, including two from just off the fringe.

3 verifiable, 2 by myself.

Funny you should say "verifiable". I play quite a few rounds by myself and about a month ago I had a 2 foot eagle putt that I missed. I looked up during the stroke - like that guy having the perfect moment while driving his car then he thinks about what's for dinner - and I was sort of relieved to write down a 4 because nobody ever doubts a birdie. Is that weird?

I had two. Both within one month, a couple weeks ago.

One a legit par 5 eagle, on in two, putt was 8 feet, sunk.

2nd one was 2 weeks later, freakish pitch on a short par 4, in the hole.

1 for me from ,150 yards on a par 4.

2 attempts on par 5's this summer on 12-14 ft putts made birdie on both.

1 attempt on a par 4 -greenside chip from 30 feet, hit the drive like a champ, dinked the chip like a chump. ended up with a par, lessoned learned when you have a shot at eagle take the skirt off.

Never!!!!

Been playing for a year and a half and have never had an eagle. I've only had three legit attempts at eagle though. One time I was on a Par 5 in two with about a 30ft. putt for eagle, the other two I was just in front of the green in two on my home course and had little pitch attempts at it.

Career Bests:

9 Holes--37 @ The Fairways at Arrowhead-Front(+2)

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

1) The Fairways at Arrowhead

2) Mayfair Country Club

Still working on the first one, a couple courses near me have some short, drivable par 4's, probably my best chance, some even possible to drive with less than driver even in the 245 yard range and I think they're really not even that far. Ive reached one par 5 in 2 and 2 putted that one for birdie and nearly chipped in once on another par 5 on my 3rd shot from about 25 yards out, got it to inside a foot. Maybe one day an eagle will come just not yet.

I've had a dozen or so eagle opportunities but have yet to sink the putt.

Even par through 9 is my best.  I don't even want to think about what was my worst.

I made two eagles on the front nine last Saturday. Made a 40 yard pitch on the par 4 5th. Nine is a par 5 dogleg right. I hit a good drive and then cut a 3 wood from 262 around the tree line. I knew I hit it well but couldn't see the green. It was about 8 feet. Fun stuff.

I've had one in my life, it was like 9 years ago too.

It was Father's Day in '01, a Sunday. My father had passed away the year before, so I go golfing every father's day--sort of in memory of him, I guess. Anyway, I get to the 2nd hole, a straight par 4 that's not even 300 yards. I hit a horrible loopy slice out into the #7 f-way. I'm still like 170 yds away!!!! I hit a solid 5 iron, saw it bounce on the green, so I grabbed my golfbag and started walking. I get up there, I walk around the damn green for like 8 minutes (thankfully no one is behind me). . .Finally I hear a booming voice from the sky, kinda, "Look in the hole Bubba (my dad of course called me Bubba). And there it was. . .I couldn't believe it, it certainly was all luck and line pretty much.

Nowadays, I'm hitting par5 greens with 6 irons and the like, putting sometimes for eagle. Game has improved tenfold since 2001, but still, no eagle. I feel one coming though!!

I've hit 2 eagles. First was a hole out on the first hole from about 100 yards (followed by an OB drive on #2). Second was on the 14th hole which is a 530 narrow par 5 with water in front of the green. It was basically pitch black out and was going to the be the last hole of the day, or night I suppose. I crushed a driver that disappeared off the club face. I figured it went down the left side of the fairway and figured if i couldn't find it it was game over. I found it right where I thought it would be and why not, decided to go for it. I had to aim it out way right because of a tree protecting the left side and hook it. I nailed a hybrid, which I never saw, and felt I hooked it properly around the tree near the green. It wasn't on so i figured game over again. I found it right next to the green and proceeded to chip in from about 30 feet for the final hole. To this day it is maybe my favorite hole I've ever played.

    • Day 171 - 2025-03-20 Got a good 30 minutes in today. A little backswing so it doesn't get too far out of hand, then some downswing stuff. If I'm in a good spot at the top I have a chance even without the best downswing.
    • First day of spring and we had colossal snowflakes here.   The temperature has dropped significantly.   I may not get to golf until mid-April.
    • Welcome to TST.   We're glad you've joined.   How exciting to see a hole-in-one.   They are rare.  Congratulations on getting the golfing bug.   It can be contagious and expensive!
    • So to start with I’m 67 years old and just returned to the game a month or so ago after a 30+ year break. . To give you an idea of how long I’ve been away from golf, there were no hybrids last time I got serious about it. I’m enjoying it and seeing gains/improvement every time out. That said, I’m playing with antique woods (Old Taylormade Burners) and since I’m playing with Callaway irons (2004 BBs) I’d like to stick with the brand and upgrade to Callaway woods - at least a driver and a 3 for now.   For a glimpse of my ability, I hit the 3 wood 200 yards and more or less straight, and I think I newer tech clubs might help. Also I’m 6’5” and these clubs are a bit short for me, by 1 1/2” or so.   So looking at the gillions of perfectly fine looking Callaway drivers on eBay I’m completely overwhelmed and under-informed. I’m also doing this on a self-imposed budget since I’m not good enough to warrant new, exotic, pricey stuff and I’m pretty sure anything made in the last 20 years will do nicely.    So given all that, anyone have any specific suggestions on a good/prefered model Callaway driver that can be had for around $50? If I earn better gear by improving my performance I’ll go after it then, get fitted for clubs again, all that. But for now my goal is bogey golf so I’m limiting my golf allowance accordingly.    Thanks, cheers, and happy golfing.  As examples, I’m looking at RAZR, BBII, X460, Fusion FT series, Diablo, etc. and I can’t tell if they are all good and I should just shop price or if one or more are preferable over others. TIA…
    • G'day all. My name's Glenn and my mates call me Corbs. I'm a 50-something-year-old Aussie who HATED golf until COVID when I got utterly and irrevocably hooked. I'm playing three rounds a week and loving it. My best mate that I started golf with during COVID hit an Ace this week! Our foursome - including his son - all watched the ball disappear and we went absolutely mental! Only been playing a few years and improving quickly and trying to get to under 17 handicap this year. Thanks for having me!
