The one I have now is black from wear and it's stretched out loose, but it still grips great. It's a Mizuno, don't remember the model, but it's an awesome glove.

I'm probably gonna replace it today in preparation for a round tomorrow just 'cause it's ugly, but I'll keep it for a backup.

In general, I go through a couple gloves a year, but I haven't played much. This year, I hope to go through a lot more gloves. :D

I usually replace when they start to stretch out on me too much. I have big hands and even XL size fit tight. Once they start sliding around I replace them.

Mine get replaced when I get a hole in the palm of it. (sometimes it happens pretty fast, other times it takes months)

I always buy a new one once I open one up.

I replace mine when they start to develop a hole, or it starts to lose grip. I was advised changing gloves every 4-5 rounds, but that's just a guideline.

That guideline must have been set by golf glove companies.

I buy one...when the other one loses it's mojo. Ya see...I have many superstitions. I bought a black "Bionic Glove", and I had a crappy round..therefore..only white for me from then on. I know...i have a screw loose!

what is the difference between regular and cadet gloves? I never tried on a cadet glove, because I was always afraid it was for kids and I would damage the glove trying it on.

I think for shorter fingers. I have thick hands, but not long fingers. This glove deffinetly has the correct finger length, but I would like a bit moreroom around the palm. I'm just going to go in next week and make a mess of things looking for a glove i like.

Cadet is for chubby hands. A regular large is too tight for me so I wear a cadet large because an extra large regular is too long in the fingers.

I change gloves after nine holes and I wash them from time to time. Slightly off topic, but I found a tan Pinehurst glove in my old bag. It was bought around 1993 when gloves came in several colors and included snap -on ball markers.

You can still get gloves with the snap on ball markers.

Not off the top of my head. I will look to see if I still have one with my practice gloves when I get home. I did a Google search for

golf glove ball marker and saw that FootJoy has a couple gloves that have a ball marker...magnetic, though, not the snap on. http://www.footjoy.com/catalog/mens.asp?c=43

Thanks....

I was just glove shopping yesterday. I found some of the golfsmith brand calbratta leather gloves for $6 a piece and they had the snap on ball markers. They also fit perfect, so I picked up a few.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

    • So close, that is frustrating.
    • You need to stick with one instructor as long as they’re not terrible. There’s no blueprint to improving a golf swing and different instructors may see different things as being more important and try to fix them. The end result is you get a hodge podge of things to work in that may not be cohesive or necessarily help you. If you stick to one instructor and communicate to them as such, they’ll also be able to work out a roadmap to your improvement which is more beneficial in the long run. If a guy assumes you’re just coming in for one lesson you might end up with a band aid.

    • Many thanks.  I read a lot of those posts.   Man, that is really deep.  As an old beginner, during a lesson or on the driving range, I have hit a good shot, you know pretty straight and it goes say 130 yards (7 iron).  The very next swing, I dig a ditch behind the ball.  I know I didn't do the same things on both swings.  Even this last lesson I had, I would hit a pretty good shot, not so on the next shot.  The instructor would quickly point out, "Hey you stayed on your back foot" or "Guess what happened there.  You got all armsy or handsy".  Sort of feels like I need a checklist when I prepare to swing each time.  I can see it now before every swing, "Hey can you guys give me 10 minutes while I run through my checklist".  In all seriousness, I see what you all are saying.  I wouldn't be overthinking it so much if just I could make decent contact most of the time.  Next lesson is about two weeks away.  Can't wait.
