Hello,

I am in the market for some new golf shirts. I would like high quality brands but for cheap prices. I have already discovered rockbottom golf, great prices and brands but they are hit or miss.

Do you have any other suggestions about other places to look?

Thanks

I get a fair number of my shirts from the Izod outlet store nearby.

Oddly enough, ROSS, Marshall's, and TJ-Maxx. Sure it's hit or miss, but I got a Nike Golf Polo for 11.99, and a Docker's Golf Polo for 7.99.

Good call! I've been finding the moisture wicking adidas clima cool, nike, callaway, izod, ping, ashworth and more at those stores. Another good place is a local golf retailer. New season, new stuff, last year's stuff's gotta go, sometimes 50-75% off. Its cheaper for them to sell them at that deep a discount than send them back.

That is very true! I didn't think of that since we have 1 golf local store.

Def like the Izod outlet. TGW has a number of closeouts. Also, check out Steinmart.

It depends on your definition of cheap. Any of the online retailers usually will have stuff on closeout - TGW, Golf Galaxy, Golfsmith, etc. Another place I just discovered is golflocker.com. I saw their add in a magazine. I have never bought anything there, so I can't comment on their service, but they look to have a bunch of last years stuff pretty cheap. The TJ Maxx and Marshals that were previously mentioned sometimes have some good stuff if you catch them at the right time.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

There are some golf shirts at Target for under $20. I was considering getting one a few days ago. I probably will do so before too long - they looked great on the rack and are the same material as their workout shirts, which comprise most of my workout shirts.

Too bad Steve & Barry's went out of business. Bubba Golf shirts were pretty good for the price.

i have to 2nd GPP, i get most of my golf apparel from them, great customer service and extremely fast shipping.

In The Bag
Tour Burner TP 9.5* Diamana Whiteboard 83 X-Stiff, tipped 2"
906 F2 13* Pro Force V2 95G Stiff
Idea Pro Gold 18* Aldila NV 105X
735.CM 3-PW Project X 6.5 Ordered Mizuno MP68 KBS Tour X Vokey Spin Milled 58* Vokey Spin Milled 64* Bettinardi BC-1 33" x77 stand bag Pro V1

Outlet stores are great for discounted prices in general. I like 3Balls, I got a couple Nike hats from them for like $12 each that usually retail for like $30.

I have managed to find plenty of good deals through Ebay. At times it can be frustrating, but so far I have scored Ping, Zero Friction & Adidas shirts/outerwear for upwards of 60% to 75% off of retail.

Gabriel Brothers (like a marshalls or tjmax) recently had a really good selection of good golf shirts / shorts /pants.

I got about 10 Greg Norman shirts and about 5 izod's all with the "Play-dry" material (moisture wicking)

The Greg Norman shirts were 15 each (orig price 45) and the izods were 10 each.

Also got a couple pairs of shorts.

In my Staff bag:
Bazooka HP-5 Driver 460cc
Bazooka OS HP-5 3/5 Woods
Jmax QL Irons 5-PW (Graphite Stiff Shafts)
X-tour Gap Wedge 52* X-tour Sand Wedge 56* Lob Wedge 60* Rossa Daytona 1 Putter

I bought three of these off Amazon for 3.99-4.99 a piece. Since its still in the 30s here, I haven't used them yet, but they seem to be pretty solid. No fancy swoosh or logos, but they'll do the job for walking 18 when its 85 and humid.

Humid? What's that?

Seriously, thanks for the info. When was the sale, and does it pop up now and then or was it a one-time thing? I'd much rather pay $5 than $20 if it's possible

    • Rule 1.2b refers you to a section in the Committee Procedures (Section 5I) that helps explain what a Code of Conduct may (and may not) do.  Defining acceptable behavior (including smoking) and applying Stroke of DQ penalties are certainly within the Committee's authority. That Code of Conduct certainly should be available, either in written form or in a webpage accessible to all.  It may not show up on the "standard local rules" for an organization, the "hard card", as it sounds like its a policy of this particular golf course. Assuming that's the case it should show up on the Notice to Players for this particular event.  If you can't find it, ask someone, send an email, try to find out.   In summary, yes the Committee can DQ (or withdraw) a Player for smoking, even before or between rounds.  But its up to you to go from there, communication is the key here.

    • Hmm... I not sure I completely understand. If the course has a no smoking policy, then he shouldn't smoke at the course.  I'm assuming since you are aware of the policy, it must be written down somewhere.  As far as getting disqualified from the tournament, I would think that would be up to the committee. But it feels like it is within their power to disqualify, so why take the chance?
