Let's hit on a pet peeve of mine. I am a junior golfer (14) and one of the things I hate the most is when I play againist someone who insists on pretending to be a tour player. They spin the club in their follow-through, they act like an ass not looking for there ProV1's in the woods, and they pretty much just act dumb. But the worst of all these people is ones who turn the logos of their grips down just to look cool. This is probably more annoying than a guy who sits on the tee box all day ans says "U DA MAN" over and over.

What are all of your pet peeves?

Well I do the same also and actually the graphics on my shaft are also "turned down". Some people do use the graphics/markings as an alignment tool. To me I just like nothing to distract me when it's hammer time. I wouldn't say it's a "cool" thing/issue.

Things that bug me:

-Getting close to me when I swing/putt.
-Improving your lie

Well, I gotta say I have never noticed another player's grip before. Really and truly I stick to my own game unless my playing partner does something that interferes with it like walking in my line or talking loud while I'm hitting. Golf is too hard of a game if you are going to let things like another player's grip being upside down bother you. I have no real "pet peeves" other than stupid things I do. Sure noone likes to play slow or play with complete hackers who don't know the game but when that occurs work on the mental aspect and don't let those things affect what your doing on the course. I guess my only pet peeve is I don't get to play enough golf.

Really shaft frequency or puring should dictate where the logo is.

..really..I thought the shaft plays the same any direction..wow..well I'm a caveman and I told the guys at Roger Dunn to turn the graphics down..

--- ..oh yeah I really hate those dual sided "chippers" ..you know the one where you can either "chip" with it left or right..looks like a traingular wedge block..a buddy of mine plays with it and I don't have the heart to tell them I want to huck it as far as I can whenever I see it..I think they're illegal to use in play anyway.

By rule, they're supposed to. But supposedly there's a small difference. Some people seem to think that this difference actually matters.

..oh yeah

I think those are actually illegal now... something about having grooves on more than one face or something like that.

I don't mind people who turn down the logos because it annoys them, but people who do it just because Tiger does...

My biggest pet peeve is when people are not ready to play when it is their turn. They are screwing around in their bag, running back to the cart to get the right club...or whatever. If I am in the cart I will take a few clubs with me until I get to see the lie, line whatever.
That drives me crazy. Or they screw around and waste time when their are people behind you. I play at public courses so it can get crowded and log jammed.

The guy who does all my club repair swears it makes a difference. I personally don't think it would matter except maybe at the highest level.

Sorry for being naive, but what do you mean by "turning down logos"

The logo or name on the grip or shaft that identifies the manufacturer. For instance Golf pride or Aldila. It is turned away from the player so he/she cannot see it at address. (it would be visible from the underside of the club)

My biggest pet peeve is when people give you "golf tips" about your swing and how to play the game during the round. It's one thing when I *ask* (a better player) for a tip, but I hate it when people start giving out free "advice". I know I just hit a poor shot - there's no need to tell me what was wrong with my swing (especially when yours is not better).

I suppose my second biggest pet peeve is when people don't follow the rules and etiquette of golf and then record their score(s) and start bragging about how well they're playing. Just this past week, I played a round with my mom and some family friends. The other person took three mulligans off the tee (wild slice into the bush) and then proceeded to score a "par" on a par 4. The worst part was when they asked for my score (bogey) and started to get all smug - "oh bogey...". I know that I don't know all of the rules of golf, but I try to be as honest about my play as I know how (i.e., no mulligans, no improving my lie, following all of the rules that I know, etc). Anyway, I'm not sure what game some of these people are playing, but it sure doesn't seem like it's golf.

Those two things coupled together just drive me crazy. Everything else doesn't really bother me.

I feel like such a Tour Player now. Well, except for the fact that I haven't broken 90 in two months. Ugh.

I usually don't even keep track of score for these types of people..you only rob yourself playing this way..hopefully you weren't playing for any money. A buddy I play with just started the game and wants to keep track of score..after 3-4 holes he gets tired of telling me 8's and 10's and I just stop asking..you should ask your friend what about the 3 he took of the tee.

I played with some folks a few months ago. I wasn't driving that great but one guy kept telling me to pick it up and hit it from the fairway..what is this?!?! dream golf?!? I actually felt offended and he wasn't any better..you're absolutely right though..you gotta know when to shut your trap..a bad shot is a bad shot.

I'm pretty sure we all have a lot of the same pet peeves. The guy who won't get off the phone, the inconsiderate bastards, not being allowed through a group, etc. etc. etc.

My pet peeve aside from the normal ones is when I have a good miss and someone I don't play with regularly says "good shot!" without a hint of sarcasm.

Say I blade an 8-iron, comes off on a 3-iron trajectory, bounces, rolls to ten feet. Clearly not the shot I wanted to hit... you know how grating it is to me to hear "great shot!" by some clueless dolt while my hands are still sore from the vibrations?

looking at your picture I'd suggest to try a bit more upright stands, relax those hands

I saw you more upset when a 3-foot side/downhiller was knocked back to you with "that's good" comment

That one gets me too, but I kinda mentioned that in the other thread.

I've to list 3 issues:
1. excess alcohol on the course
2. people abusing carts by driving all over (including greens )
3. this one might sound a bit racist, but very often I see "typical" korean players that drive me nuts: heavy staff golf bags loaded with the most expensive clubs - most of them callaway or homma(?), regardless of handicap playing the tips, study every putt for couple minutes... I know for a fact most of them bet heavy on the golf course (we're talking 1000+ a round), but I don't like to be forced into a 6 hr rounds every time couple of those groups are on the course. I'm aware it's a stereotype and not all are like that - as a matter of fact my golf teacher is korean and I played with him several times without problem, so please don't hang me out for generalizations - but the fact is, that it's a fact based on several, several personal observations.

A few things that really annoy me on the course are these:

1. I have a friend who likes to talk on his cell phone when he plays. And once in a while will forget to put it on vibrate. I hate that. I embarrass him in front of the other two people (who we dont know) when I can.

2. Someone who hits a great drive down the middle of the fairway, but will walk along either a creek or the woods to search for other peoples lost balls.

3. Probably all the other ones that you guys mentioned, not being ready to hit, etc....
