As far as I can remember 5 was my worst. It's a 2 tier green with the slope dropping about 4 feet and steep. They put the hole right on the edge that day where you had to be long from below the hole or it would roll back to you or short from above the hole because it would roll down to bottom. Needless to say, I wasn't happy.

I might have encountered the most unfair hole position ever last year (worse than the one mentioned above). The entire green was severely sloped right to left and back to front. The hole was top front. I technically only one putted it because the ball kept rolling back to my feet in the fringe. 2 times in a row I hit a good putt that stopped hole high then rolled backwards about 30 feet back to my feet again. This might have gone on all day but on the third attempt I made the putt. My friend was having the same thing happen to him so he finally gave up and picked up his ball. It's the only green I've ever seen where a ball will not stop anywhere near the hole. There was a spot about 10 feet away on the hole where you could get the putt to stop, but that was toward the back and if you didn't then make that putt the ball would end up where mine was. I asked the greenskeeper about that hole and he said they normally do not keep the green near that fast but because we were in the middle of a draught and it was in the shade the grass wasn't growing. They moved the hole position everyday to good grass but they were out of good positions on the hole.

don't remember, but I'm sure I've had a 5 or 6 on some rediculous two or three tiered green. One of my old league courses had a crazy green with a giant tier and people would routinely 4-putt... it has gotten the better of me a few times.

I think a 5 putt was my worst last season. The worst part was, it was a beautiful, sunny day, no wind, and I chipped it into within 6 feet of the hole. Proceeded to putt, missed, over shot the hole, down the sloped green to the bottom tier. Took 3 putts to get it up on the top tier, 3 feet from the hole, and holed in on the 5th putt.

I took 6 putts in my club championship last year...and the sad thing was that i was only 80 yards out on my approach shot. The greens were cut extra low and were firmer than usual and the pin was put in a ridculous position. This partucular green was the steepest and most ungelated on the course. I put my approach over the hole about 15 feet..and the resulting six putts you could have played the Benny Hill theme over as i putted them....it was a nightmare. Ended up with a 91 that day.

I think 4 is the most I've had since I started really trying to play golf 3 years ago. Before that, I played a few goof off holes in high school and I'm sure I hit 10 and picked up once.

My wife and I stopped to play on the way up to the lake and when we got to the 8th, she 3 putted and I lost count, 3 putting for her is a real rarity. I'm decent at putting but the hole was right on the front edge and you couldn't keep it on the green unless you went ten feet past the hole if/when it rolled back to the fairway it would then turn and run sideways so you always had a wicked break gettin it back up to the hole. When we got to the clubhouse the kid at the desk asked what we thought of the 8th pin placement with a big smirk on his face, evidently him and two other kids were left in charge for the day so they decided to amuse themselves by shaving the green and putting the hole on the edge, when we walked out to leave they were all yukking it up at the expense of the group behind us which were currently trying to putt into the same hole as these idiots watched from the club house balcony. Never went back and the only time I ever rewrote my scorecard after finishing a round, gave myself four putts which I felt was fair since I don't think I have ever four putted a hole in my life.

I've four putted a few times before. I've never encountered a pin position on a really fast green that has led to the ball rolling back at me before so I guess that helps. There are couple of greens on my home course that could be contenders if they sped them up and put the hole in the right place, the greens keepers usually keep things fair though.

Before yesterday, 4 was the most putts I had and even that was a lot I thought. The hole was just in an impossible position creating a backup in holes prior.

I played a course in the Poconos with a gimmick 9th (or maybe 10th) green and the flag at the apex of the slant. This was maybe 10-12 years ago. My dad got lucky and holed a long one straight uphill. Then he chortled as I went back and forth at least a half dozen times, no threat of the ball coming to rest. He still loves to bring it up.

I've 7 putted because I got frustrated and stopped taking my stance and just tried to tap it in 4 times.

Five for me. Four months or so into playing the game. 1st hole, 330 yard par 4.

1. 20 foot birdie putt 15 feet past the hole
2. 15 foot par putt 10 feet past the hole
3. 10 foot bogey putt five feet short
4. 5 foot double bogey putt on the lip
5. Tap in for triple bogey

    • First (12 holes) round in a year, maybe the third round in five years. After prioritizing family for a long time, I’m ready to play more golf. We moved back where I grew up and started playing golf. The course is close, but only six holes and pretty short, so the longest club I bring is a 4i. It is very undulated, with a lot of elevation changes and 4/6 greens are blind shots. The long game was relatively good (relative to my game and swing). Got things to work on, but the current state is manageable. One OB. Wedges and short game was atrocious. Chunking like I was making a garden. On the worst hole I chunked a 58° approach, then chunked three chips in a row… Time to search up some chipping topics and start practicing. I’ll take this over bad long game and good short game. The short game is easier to fix. Shot a net +17(!), gross +23, over 12 holes.
    • Day 118 - Spent some time working on the full swing. Need to film some swings for Evolvr tomorrow.
    • playing with cleveland hybrid irons have friends that use hybrids anyone using hybrid irons or hybrids would appreciate fwwdback
    • I dont know if I really have a favorite, but there are two that have stuck in my mind for a very long time. #15 at Erie Golf course during the Finals of the EDGA Matchplay. Was up early and then lost a few holes in row so the match was close again. My opponent had a short putt for birdie. I hit past hole high, but 35 feet right. I drained the putt and looked over at my opponent who was in disbelief.   #8 at Whispering Woods during another year of the EDGA Matchplay. Was playing a very cocky opponent who made sure to mention on the first tee how many times he won the club championship at this course. I hammered this 30 footer that clanked off of the pin and dropped. My opponent was disgusted and that made me weirdly happy. I went on to win 5&3 or something like that, so that entire day has stayed in my memory.
    • Day 20: Did 30 minutes after getting home from work, before kid's baseball practice. This session was piecing out the new hip move in transition, doing 2-3 rehearsals from the top, and then hitting a ball from between P5/P6. Did another 45 minutes after baseball practice and dinner. Did 30 more minutes of what I did earlier, and then about 15 minutes of full swings trying to incorporate athletically.
