ever been called a pro golfer?

i went golfing 2 days ago and at about the end of our round there was a guy walking who was pretty good. at the 14th hole we let him join us, and he was playing pretty damn good my shot up next i swung he said nice swing. i never paid any mind to it..... 2nd shot to the green on a par 4 hit a 8 iron perfect and dropped 6 feet for birdie..... he said your swing tempo and style resembles fred couples.... of course i was like wow since thats the swing ive been wanting to replicate and i guess it shows..... do i golf anything like fred no way but it looks good lol..... anyone else?

Well, I've had a few "I'll see you on t.v"'s, but I don't think that anybody has told me I had a swing that resembles anybody. I'd say it's a bit Phil Mickelson at set up (surprise surprise), and a bit Charles Howell III at impact.

I've been called a lot of things over the years.......most of them not suitable for repetition on a family oriented forum like this......but a "pro golfer" isn't one of them!

I've been approached on the putting green before and asked for putting tips.

I always tell the person what I'm trying to work on, but I'm also quick to say that I am not a good source of information. Several times the response has been "OH.. I thought you looked like some kind of pro."

This always strikes me as hilarious because I'm such a terrible putter, but I guess I make it look good!

it's happened a couple times..... a few weeks back i figured some things out with my 58* on fringe chips. for a short time i was much better with that thing than my putter.

me and my brother were playing with these two other guys that were much better than us.

I had a couple lip-out chips and mid-round I was dubbed by them as "phil" or "mickelson". my brother teased me about it later.

I do play as a professional though, and people think I have a good looking swing. In that sense, I guess you could say, people think I swing like me.

I thought pros don't have handicaps?

Everyone has got a handicap if you calculate one, but they always play by stroke, so the handicap is of little use, other than seeing how good you play.
