I don't. I try to be up front about that by denoting my handicap here with a big ~

To be honest, I don't even keep score very often. I usually play by myself when the course is mostly empty. I'm just out there hitting a bunch of different shots and tinkering with my swing. All I know is that when I have kept score lately, usually for 9 holes, a happy day is 10 or 11 over par.

Eventually, when I am done trying to overhaul my swing, I will start posting scores.

As far as giving advice, I think I keep my mouth shut unless I'm talking to a person who is going through something I just experienced. And even then I try to be clear that I'm no professional, just talking about what I did to get past that point. I sure hope I don't come off the wrong way.

Mine is legit. It's actually 16.1 now.. Will be 16.3 by the revision this week. I did once forget that I got an 8 on a hole were ESC made it a 7 and I forgot to post it that way, so I'm actually more of a sandbagger if anything.

I can't say mine is accurate because I play the same course all the time. Also there are times where things are going soooo bad that I stop keeping score. Over time of course those high scores get weeded out so I don't think I'm too far off. I've been all over the map this season and seem capable of hitting anywhere from 84 to 124. Fortunately over the past couple of weeks I've played a lot and settled back into pretty much bogie golf.

    • I suggest you actually read some of the Rules, either online or on the USGA (or R&A) phone app.  Here's the Definition of Committee: You have a small league, whoever is in charge of that league is the Committee.  This would be the same person (group) who might decide that you should play Lift Clean and Place (Modal Local Rule E-3), to institute the "leaf rule", (MLR F-14), or that you should move a ball out of aerification holes (MLR E-4).
    • Website. And yeah I was asking about the specifics within those sections under the performance tab. I guess the strokes gained by distance like you noted is probably a good place to start. This would indicate that my wedges need practice, which I figured as much so I'm not surprised by that   Some of the other ones specifically around the short game I struggle to make sense of what it actually means. Like I know this chart is measuring the percentage of the time that I get the ball within certain proximity ranges but I don't know from a quick glance at this where I need to improve.   But then again I guess these two would seem to indicate that it's chipping inside 25yds from the rough that has the most room for improvement? Does it seem like I'm interpreting that right?
    • What is this committee I keep hearing about? We’re a small league playing at a county course. And these are temporary issues that may be gone in a day or two. In any case, I wish more people agreed with me. It seems that trying to convince golfers to modernize rules is like trying to change the Bible. The safeguard is that you have to check with your  opponent to make sure he agrees with the drop, why should you need a committee for that?
    • We’re discussing rules. By definition, it’s going to involve semantics. You hit your ball in a bunker, which under normal conditions, you’d have a bunker lie. If you declare your ball unplayable, you would be allowed to drop outside of the bunker for two penalty strokes. You happened to hit it under water in said bunker due to ACC. Because of the ACC, your relief option outside of the bunker could be taken for only one penalty shot. Again, the stroke is added because you would have changed your lie from from a bunker to the general area. And I would make the same argument, but again, that’s on the committee for not doing their job and marking it as GUR and not at the discretion of each individual golfer. At this point all I can gather is that you don’t like the particular situation you found yourself in, but shit happens. We’ve all been there one way or another.
