I don't as use it as much as I should. If I play when it is hot out, I sweat so much I just wipe it off anyway. I constantly have a wet towel on my face, neck, and arms so after a few holes I would have to reapply. I rarely get sunburned though (I know, it does more than prevent sunburn). I played 36 last month and didn't put any on, and only got a slight burn on my ears that I couldn't even feel a day later.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I don't wear sunblock as often as I should. I used to use those towlette wipes that you could throw a few on the bag but I ran out of them. As for sunglasses, I wear them when I find I am squinting too much to focus. Otherwise they stay off.

What sunglasses? I use Bolles and they are amazing. I've used Arnettes, Ray Bans, Oakleys, and Maui Jim's before...all do the job well. I like the Bolle lenses the best so far (they're lighter than most lenses). I can see everything as long as it's not sunset.

I used to scoff at the idea of wearing sun block. Then I found out that Melanoma was a cause of my grandfathers death.

I use the "Bull Frog" sun screen. I make sure its on my neck, ears, cheeks, and legs. I dont put any on my hands so it doesnt interfere with my grip. It really is a no brainer. Avoid the sun burns and yes skin cancer is a reallity, they say its the most preventable cancer.

If anything just to avoid that burned feeling when its 106 in Texas makes wearing the sun screen worth it.

I use it, and then in the 100º heat when I start sweating and it stings my eyes, I have an excuse for playing bad yet again.

I use it each time I play. The sun in Denver can really blast you if not properly protected.

I usually apply a lotion based sunblock at the house before I go out and then use a spray bottle at the course as I don't want my hands slimey from the lotion.

i rarely have used sunblock, and i've developed a pretty good farmer tan in the five years since i took up golf. lately my friends have started ribbing me about how i'm going to "turn into luggage" within a decade or so if i don't start using sunblock. i rarely actually sunburn, or if i do get one it's pretty mild, usually cleared up within 24-36 hours, but the idea of skin cancer or having my face look like a beige orange peel by the time i'm 50 are not very appealing notions.

I've seen a few old golfers with chunks of their ears removed due to cancer from exposure. This inspires me to apply and sometimes reapply.

I don't find it hard to believe at all that some people don't use sunscreen.

There are people who don't wear seat belts, don't excercise, haven't quit smoking, never eat a vegetable, idle their car while filling it with gas, go skiiing or snowboarding on black diamond runs without a helmet, play hockey without a cup, drive in heavy traffic while talking on their cell phones or fiddle with their GPS or stereos, cheat on their wives/taxes/employers/employees/golf scores.

People take a lot of risks: including not wearing sun screen once they have a tan. It's human nature to take stupid chances.

Try soap and water - not joking - you're supposed to apply sunscreen at least 1/2 an hour before going out in the sun. That's plenty of time to wash the palms of your hands. But . . . if washing your hands in the locker room, make sure it's not the kind of soap that has hand lotion - that stuff is a b%^* to wash off!

I use it durning the late spring/summer months, but also the spray on kind. I also found out a few years ago that if you have short hair and wear a visor, spray the top of your head too!

    • Day 39: did top golf for an hour with the family. It was fun but also not really like real golf at all. Also did some mirror work - working on the backswing stuff mostly.
    • Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.
    • Day 143 1-2 Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.
    • Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).
