I don't even know anyone who's ever had a club stolen from them on a course.

I'm sure it happens, but it's never been something with which I concern myself.

In David's bag....

3-Wood: Titleist 910F;  15* Diamana Kai'li
Hybrids: Titleist 910H 19* and 21* Diamana Kai'li
Irons: Titleist 695cb 5-Pw

Wedges: Scratch 51-11 TNC grind, Vokey SM-5's;  56-14 F grind and 60-11 K grind
Putter: Scotty Cameron Kombi S
Ball: ProV1

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Ironically, somebody stole the headcover from my Scotty cameron studio select, but didnt take the actual putter...lol. And just about anyone with any aestheic sense will tell you that the studio select headcovers are the most hideous looking things known to man. Go figure..lol.

But a friend of mine had his scotty stolen right out of his bag a few years ago. He had one of those fancy custom cameron headcovers on it. He uses a ping bootie cover on the one he uses now.

I use a jumbo mallet putter (Nike IC 20/20). Nobody would ever steal a mallet putter.

I only have one different headcover than the one that came with my clubs - it's my driver - I have a Chocolate Lab as my Driver head cover, instead of my Ping G10 headcover. It was a gift for Christmas last year (my dog is a chocolate lab), so I use it. I like it, looks funny.
I considered getting a different headcover for my new Scotty Cameron; but I like the original one so much better than anything else I found!

I really don't think anyone wants my 6 year old driver but my irons are nice. It does scare me a bit. I got an old 3 wood cover and a dog smoking a cigar driver cover. I have had that for years and was a gift from my wife so I will probably just put it on it for that reason. (and it is really sweet). I want a new driver.

I also have a no name bag that was cheap and nice. Great Dividers. But if you looked in my bag you would be aware they aren't cheap clubs.

Brian

I use all of the standard covers for my clubs besides my driver which has a polar bear head cover. Never really had a problem with theft at my home courses.

i had a run-in a few years ago where someone actually took my driver out of my bag on the range and was hitting it... it was witnessed by several people and the guy actually threatened to call the cops when i grabbed it out of his hands. anyways... since then i've used non-stock headcovers... right now i have a Black-face Sheep headcover from Whistling Straits on my driver.

The only non-manufacturer head cover I'd use would be something like Ishikawa's headcover.

This image is disturbing in more than one way lol.

Ive got a JDM (Japanese domestic market) Mizuno putter cover on my Bettinardi. No sense in advertisting to the world that I own an expensive putter.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

My putter is the only club in my bag with a cover. The putter is a sub-$50 Wilson mallet of some sort. The cover is an old sock. I think I'm safe.

I just manned up and decided that i was going to buy a nice putter...so I bought the Cameron Squareback from Golfsmith, here in Florida. The headcover that comes with it is butt ugly!! So...I went in search for a good looking Scotty Cameron headcover. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THESE STUPID THINGS GO FOR??????? It's absolutely amazing to me. $250 for a good looking leather headcover. I spoke with customer service at Cameron and she said that it was nothing to buy these COLLECTIBLES for upwards to $2,000!!!! She asked me..."You are not going to game it...are you?" I said..."Well...yeah...I thought I was going to." She mentioned that guys just collect them and keep them knowing that some day..they will be worth a lot of money!
Now THIS is a cover that i think I would have bolted to my bag! I can imagine me going in for a soda and a dog at the turn and coming out to a violated golf bag..and the putter and the cover missing! I would die!! There is nothing like advertising what you have in the bag with a cover like that! I think I am in unchartered waters with this putter.

Tools of my game:
Burner 09' Driver 10.5 Reg flex
5-pw G10's/ plus Taylormade R7 4 iron
Burner 08' 4 Hybrid
A70S 3 Hybrid Burner 09' 3 wood "Zing" SW 56 degree Fastback Laser range finder / plus Skycaddie SG5...also a great ball retriever!!

    • Love resurrecting this thread! The float-load feel bit and then the old video I think from Mike on how to hit low and high chips were the kickstart to my short game journey, where I play well below my handicap (officially 9.x right now, via arccos I only lose 1 stroke per round to a scratch golfer in my short game). I've spent lots of time with float-load and I can be a sniper inside ~40 yards with my GW and 60*. But I actually just started trying a version of this for like ~40-70 yard shots! 70-115 I have a like hands to belly button height stock partial swing shot that I hit with SW-9i dialed.
    • Played 9 today. Good and bad. Full Swing - Right arm straighter feel needs to be there 100%.  Short Game - Just needs a good couple of practice sessions to polish. Too long of backswing most of the time.  Putting - more straight back and straight through “feel” works well. Hitting center of putting face more.
    • My rule of thumb is a PW for everything from 100 yards in except specialty shots like a flop or a low runner.  I find it easier to eyeball it for distance and swing on feel for the distance I need to hit
    • Day 3: Worked on putting at different distances focusing on matching the backswing and follow-through lengths.
