Just curious what internet browser most of you guys (and girls) use primarily? I'm a Mozilla Firefox guy. There is a small handful of sites that require IE, but thanks to a Firefox extension, I can open those with an IE tab while still in Firefox.

Completely nerdy, I know. Just wondering.

Safari. Occasionally Firefox. Even less frequently, OmniWeb.

What platform you use matters too, ragontona.

True that, Mr. Mac.

Mozilla. I'm all for the open source platform, and IE irks me. Or maybe that's just Micro$oft in general. Saw some figures last week, Mozilla is gaining on browser percentage...

As a web developer, IE sucks. Flat out 100% sucks. It's not great for users, but it's 10x worse for developers.

firefox 99% of the time. They've to work on their cookie handling though. It's annoying to re-log in several times during the days at certain sites (no, not the XXX ones ). My Yahoo and Yahoo mail don't like firefox too much.

I've given in ... resistance is futile. I use IE probably 90% of the time, just cuz it's there. I know it's wrong. During my enlightened 10% of the day, I use Firefox.

well, i wouldnt say ie6 totally sucks, but yes, for web development it certainly can be a pain.

but with well structured, semantically correct web documents, IE can be "taimed".

at home im safari osX 10.3.9

at work, i test my work on both PC and Mac with the following:

PC- IE 6 (ie 5.5 if required)
FF 1.5/10
Opera 9
Netscape 7.2/81
Mozilla 1.7.13
Net 4
Lynx

Mac - Safari 1.3
FF 1.5/1.0
iCab

Most companies webstats seem to boil down to ie: 75% FF 15% Safari 7-8% the rest 2-3%

geek on.

How about this: go to getfirefox.com and download Firefox. You'll see what the differences are as you use it.

I'm a big fan of being adventurous with computers. Then again, that's part of the reason I use the OS I use...

Firefox mostly. My Powerbook died recently so haven't been able to use Safari. But I was using Firefox on the Mac as well.

Firefox exclusively on the work computer and Safari and FF on the iMac at home. Firefox makes Windows an acceptable situation.

My wife uses Firefox with the exception of a few sites that need to be run in IE because of the proprietary software she uses for work. Personally, I only use Google Chrome.

Same here, even though the IT guys at work give me grief for it!

After using Chrome everything else feels really cluttered. I get cheesed off when websites don't fully support Chrome, although they are few and far between thankfully.

    • Day 58 - 2024-11-27 Some quick 90-yard shots on a particular hole… before a lesson and testing out multiple Foresight Launch Monitors on GSPro.
    • Day 209 (27 Nov 24) - Easy session with the LW - short pitches replicating greens side up and downs. Finished up with the 7i and hard foam balls - making 1/2 to 3/4 swings with deliberately slowed tempo…from varied lies.
    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
