From a packer fan to a nother this is what i think. I guess if the queens win it all this year i can say it took a packer for the vikings to win it all. Or if they make it all the way in lose i can say took a packer to get there and a packer to take it away.

I grew up in WI. We got our first color tv delivered the day before Super Bowl I. Our household has shut down for every Packer game for the last 45 years. Until 2 years ago, most of us (including my sisters) would have taken a bullet for Brett Favre. Now any of us would just as likely be the ones firing it at the SOB.

I hope he rots in MN.

This is what I love about this deal. I mean, take a bullet?!?! And your sisters?!!?! I don't think most people around the country quite realize what the Packers mean to the fine mentally balanced folks in Wisconsin. But if you are curious visit your local OCD clinic and you will get an idea.

Yeah Packers obsession isn't healthy here. But you can't question the fans dedication to that organization. They are just as adored in Milwaukee, La Crosse and every other corner of the state as they are in Green Bay. Seriously, especially during winning seasons, you won't see much traffic or anything.

I was in NYC to visit some friends and go to a Packers/Giants game and we were walking around the West Village and we had Packers stuff on...just a bit though. And everyone wearing Packers gear would just come up to you and talk "Pack" and it was fine, lol. In a city that big you can't believe how many you run into. But yeah, Brett Favre is dead to a lot of people here now. A disgusting, vile human being. I really do take it personally and I wouldn't care if he got hurt. It will heal eventually, especially if we kick his ass, but for now I have a hatred I haven't felt for an athlete. The Packers are a real piece of peoples identity here. It's a part of who a lot of people are. And when he goes off and does this, it is a personal assault on a person. So yeah, people are disappointed. This is a true betrayal. I mean, it's just a game of course, whatever. If anything it allows us to look at his total career more objectively.

I feel like most average people and football fans are sick of Favre, but they keep featuring it on Sportscenter because like I heard on ESPN the other day, "people can't stop following the Favre saga." Well I think thats because they can't avoid it on ESPN all day lol :( (agenda setting for your Communications majors out there!)

Oh well, its another interesting storyline to the season, as long as they stop overdoing it!

As a Vikings fan, I'm okay with Favre coming in to lead a team that isn't far away from being elite. Do I wish that there was a little less drama surrounding the entire situation...yes. Do I wish that we was in camp with the team...yes. But all in all, the Vikings are a better team with him playing that position and those other things didn't happen.

I'm not a Brad Childress fan at all (we should have promoted Mike Tomlin from DC) but he clearly knows that his job is on the line and that dudes named Tarvaris and Sage just aren't going to get it done.

As for the bitter sports fan, turn on the Golf Channel. You don't have to watch ESPN. I feel the same way about steroids in baseball. The bottom line is that ESPN can't break down the St. Louis Rams and actually get ratings.

As for bitter Packers fans, try not to forget that initially Favre wanted to keep playing in Green Bay. They decided that they were going in a new direction with Aaron Rogers (who is a hell of a quarterback by the way)...so who are you to say when Favre should have to hang it up???
