I have PING i5 blades, its about time to replace the original PING grips.

I am looking for something that is tacky but very very durable. Any suggestions out there?

I've used the original WINN grips when they first came out, I really liked them but my problem was they didnt last very long and got dirty very easily. I havent tried any other their latest creations...

any good recommendations

For my part of the country there is a lot of humidity, I prefer a cord grip, my grip of choice is the Golf Pride New Decade (naturally in KU blue).

I use lamkin crossline cords. I found that they last much longer than Golf Pride and retain their tackiness much longer. I've got the Golf Pride multi compound on my 3 wedges, and it's nice, at first. But I practice a lot and after a month, the part without cord lost all tackiness or softness. With the non cord Golf Prides, I have even worse endurance issues. I've sanded them down and the rubber has just shown to dry out. Now, I like cord grips just because it doesn't feel like I'm holding glue, but it sticks to my hand well. I've tried the crosslines without cord also and actually, as they wear more, they get stickier. I believe that Lamkin also makes a half cord grip as well.

Golf Pride Tour Velvet: inexpensive and you can't beat the feel they provide. Probably the only complaint you'll have is that they need to be replaced each season if you play a lot (50+ rounds), but that's where the low price makes them even more attractive: $5 installed. I've found that most people who play a lot end up replacing their grips every season anyway...

My TM Tour Preferred's came with the Tour Velvet's on them, so I just went with those for this year. Next year I'm going back to the GP Multi-Compound - no grip has ever felt more solid to me.

I'm gaming the grips in my signature line. The Tour Velvets are on my hybrids, 3 wood and driver. They will be replaced with Lamkin cords really soon. I've had these grips before on other sticks and was simply amazed at how good they worked and their lifespan is at least two years with a couple of rounds a week and some range balls thrown in weekly as well.

I bought Karakal grips on ebay (13) for about 31 bucks. I wanted a winn feel but without the bight of paying for them. I searched the net for that type of texture and came across karakal grip. I got them 3 rounds ago, I really like them, not as soft as the winns, but for the price they feel great. Not sure on durability yet, but the looks tell me they'll prob last about 1.5 seasons

lamkin crossline w chord on my irons and driver, golf pride tour wrap on wedges. But it dawned on me that since i wear a glove that i may not need chord because it might accelerate glove wear n tear. do chorded grips wear out gloves faster?

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
