How does the ball do this (draw, then fade)?

I hit a couple of shots yesterday with a weird trajectory, but I've seen it on trackman, so I figured it was not out of the ordinary, but I'd like an explanation on how the ball can behave like that.

The ball starts out to the right, curve over to the left, from the top of the flight, it stops and starts to fall down, curving slightly back towards the right. It may be a visual illusion that it looks like it's falling to the right at the end.

A bit of it here, but I know Protracer can be visually deceptive.

Yea my moneys on left to right wind. Either that or black magic, only way I can see it happening.

I'd say the wind or the old pull fade. The pull fade will sometimes look like you hit a little draw and then fade at the end.

My money is more on optical illusion based on camera angle. As spin decreases and the draw lessens, the ball begins it's downward tragectory and appears to be moving back to the right, when in fact it's simply not continuing to draw at the same rate and is coming down almost vertically.

i've had that type of ball flight in the past. it came up in another thread started by RC, i think, not too long ago, where it was discussed that perhaps it was the ball. i'm assuming that was the case for me, as when i was getting those weird "corkscrew" shots as i call them, i was using old beat up golf balls that i'd find in the woods or wherever. i've only had a handful of those shots in the past year, and each time it was using an old "found" golf ball.

I say the wind. Look at the tree to the left...the wind is obviously blowing pretty good.

It's kind of memorable to watch sometimes.

I had a day a couple of months ago when I was experimenting with some different swing ideas and a different club (softer shaft) and I hit a batch of corkscrew pull-fades; kind of like the opposite of what you had going.

They ended up going to the right spot, after aiming heavily left, but whatever was producing it wasn't a swing concept I wanted to keep working with.

I went back to my regular driver, and started hitting them better than ever.

If you look at where he is aiming and if he actually would draw on this line he would be in the left bunkers, so i´m pretty sure he is sticking his draw in the left to right wind to bring it back.

The camera isn't right behind his ball(straight through to target line) so it makes it appear that the ball ends up off to the right. I'd bet money that if the camera was in that spot that the ball would drop straight down, on the same line it went up on.

Yep. If you watch them on tv, you'll notice that virtually every single shot appears to tail off like that, regardless of the wind.

I agree. It has been a while since I have seen them use this but it does seem like that every time.

Clearly, the direction of rotation of the earth about its axis momentarily reversed. That you managed to keep your footing and make decent contact is remarkable in the circumstances.

That tree is barely moving.
