i hate when you play a course like a tournament course and it doesnt have yardage markers. i dont know if anyone else has this but there are some places that you will only play 5 times for a tournament so you dont get to know the course at all.
i shot 37 with and the round went like this par tripple par birdie par par birdie par par it was rediculus my tripple happened because i thought i was 65 yards out and was really 75 yard so my ball plugged under the lip of a bunker and i had a shot like lucas glover had in the us open

For sure, I also hate it when the idiots put red pins in the middle or white pins towards the front. I hate it when, in the air, the ball looks like it will be nestled right in the and then flies 5-10 yards past....... AHHHHH!

I've played a lot of courses, and really can't recall any that didn't have at least 100 & 150 markers. Where are your tournaments held, that they don't have these?

I have to confess I don't feel too much pity for you guys. I played in Scotland a couple of years back and there were no markers anywhere (fairways or flags). You had to use your eye and your head to figure it out - it was brilliant.

Granted, if they have a flag system (either the colour of the flag indicates pin position or those mini-flags) and they get it wrong it's infuriating, and the same goes for fairway markers, but come to Ireland and we'll really bamboozle you: distances are either in yards or metres, to the front of the green or the middle of the green. And if you're really lucky we'll give you a scorecard that measures everything in yards, but the markers on the fairway will be in metres. Confused yet?

Haha!!! Ninjas...that is good

OP>>That would drive me nuts as well. Not even having the 200, 150, and 100 yard markers....I don't know that I have played a course that didn't at least have those. With that being said, there are some courses in my area where I wouldn't trust the yardage markers anyway.

We have 100, 150 and 200 metre markers here. Although, I wish they would hand out pin locations - I have played only a few courses that do that, and I absolutely love it. Played well also, on both times!

Oh, sometimes I'm at a loss with my second shot (laying up) on par 5's. From-the-tee markers would come in handy also.

My Aerolite bag contains:

VR Tour Driver Project X 5.5
904F 17* 4-wood Sabre Stiff
MP68 3-PW Project X 6.0
52* Vokey Spin Milled -wedge

Redwood ZB

I prefer a ball, but may occasionally hit almost anything.

Even if the course isn't marked, at most "tournament" courses, you can get the yardage book that will give you what you need.

Honestly though, these days, there just aren't that many courses that aren't well marked. Back in the day though.......
