How cold is to cold ?

i would not i love the snow, but to answer your question i live in southern alabama its never to cold i went to the driving range on the coldest day last year about 10 degrees windy and snowing. thank god for yellow golf balls.

i played once last year when it was about 40, but with no wind, wasnt too bad. Upper 40's with no wind or lower 50's. I hate lots of wind even if its warm, but under 10 mph is ok.

like a lot of people have said, ill play at any temps as long as it isnt windy. Also cloudy makes it worse too.

I don't know how cold is cold but for me I would say 35d is too cold - The body adjust to the temps your in, I will always try to play all year long. so if it gets into the 40's I will play 9, I don't like the wind but I like the challenge. I have been known to play in the sleet, rain. and as soon as the snow melts i can be found at my local trak bouncing balls off the leftover ice in the shade. So i guess once the temp breaks 39 degrees I'm heading out to play :)

35 degrees or below. Otherwise, we are off to the links. We play in the Chili Open in March outside of Amsterdam NY, with snow everywhere and we putt on ice! A man has to do what a man has to do.

I will play in anything above 35 degrees as long as the wind isn't 15-20 mph+. Rain doesn't bother me one bit. I don't think you can live here and let it bother you.

Out of curiosity, what type of a discount can you typically expect when venturing out in weather like you all are describing?

I only ask because here in Northern California, we have no seasonal discounts since the weather doesn't vary much...

Winter rates are a pretty big discount in the Seattle area in my experience.

i have a tee time at my home course in two hours and the temperature outside is 45 degrees, this is Norway though.

Depends on the wind and the sun, had a 8:000 AM tee time Saturday morning, temperature when we started was 48 degrees, we played in shorts, collared shirt, and compression sleeves. There was no wind, no clouds and it was a great day to play.

Sunday morning we had a 7:50 tee time, temperature was 58 degrees but there was cloud cover, and a breeze that turned into a wind, we could not get warm, several layers and it didn't help. Not until the sun came out on 16 did it get comfortable.

There are about 1/2 dozen days a year in the desert (Palm Springs area) when the temps drop below 70. I might wear pants and a windbreaker on those days

Back in MI I have played when rain was turning to snow... and in spring I would hit the course in the upper 30's if it was sunny and the snow had melted.

Now in NC... I look for days where the high will hit 50 or more, and it will be at leat partly sunny... most winter weeks have at least a day or two like that, although sometimes in winter we will have two bad weeks, but usually that is followed by a couple nice ones.

87* for tomorrow, low 68*... love the weather in NC, not crazy hot, but can easily golf all year.
