You really need footage of your entire body. We cant comment on stance, ball position, feet movement. The head movement at the top of your back swing is 'funky' but your finish is decent

It looks like something odd is happening with your grip at the very beginning of your takeaway....regripping / lifting....something.

Also the that is some signature head / chin move you've got at the top.

Don't sweat it, though. You are the one rolling along with a 12 hcp which means you should be beating the average hack every time.

We've all got our quirks in our swings....if we didn't then we'd be playing on television on the weekends vs. working for a living.

It also looks like your hips aren't doing anything on the backswing.

they are, i guess just not as much as i usuall do in this video..idono.. and for the regrip/hand move someone said. its from me swining how this swing trainer tought me( kind of a 3 piece take away and thats step 1) but i got rid of that and its all just a one piece take away now.. and as for the head movement, its cause thats a short iron and im fairly tall and when my left arm comes back i have to lift my head to make room for my arm so i can still have a good view of the ball.. but again, i got rid of it and am just letting my arm press against my chin.. actually a lot of my swing has changed since this video( which was just yesterday or something) which is from this book im reading and a lesson.

It seems u are taking this seriously. That along with some apparent athletic ability, you'll catch on pretty quick to the changes you need to make

thanks man, and yeah im crazy serious about playing. my goal in life is to at least make the nationwide tour ( which yes i know is difficult and a long stretch, but hey after only playing for 4 months and being a 12 hc is kinda above average imo) but if i can keep practicing and playing just about everyday like i do now maybe it will happen, if not that then theres always the seniors tour, and hey i have another 45 years to practice before i have to qualify

You're only 5, you have to be 50 to qualify. hahaha thats cool anyway.

The head thing is funky, but it seems to help you not lift off the ball. The follow through seems a little constricted, which could be a result of some faulty wrist action.

Been playing 4 months and you've reached a 12 hcp level.

Awesome. Are you looking into college golf???? Seems like that'd be the natural progression and a great way to get a scholarship.

The velocity of your backswing doesn't match the equal lateral point of the spine indicator at the 2/5ths. point of the equalatitator. However the tangent point of the head in relationship to the hypotanus seems to be perpendicular to the grip at mass contact. So my suggestion would be to Keep your head still!!!!!!

It looks like you are opening the clubface quite a bit on the takeaway, either the toe of the club should be pointing straight up in the air when the club is parallel to the ground or the angle of the face should match your spine angle, depending on what swing theory you believe in. Anywhere in between is fine too. If the angle of the face points behind you at all the face is open.

Check out Tiger's takeaway.

    • Nothing exposes low point control, and for that matter the general quality of ball striking like tight lies. Lol! I am at a crossroad. My days of playing with a super strong left hand grip are coming to an end it seems. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to maintain proper face control through impact as the club face naturally wants to turn over. The quality of strike and ball flight difference when I weaken the grip is stark. Problem is a weaker grip is at odds with my poor sore left forearm which I have been nursing for last few days after 3 days of demanding golf. As of now I will continue my 'transition' to a weaker grip with woods and hopefully my forearm will condition as I go along. Maybe someday I'll get to a normal address with irons too.Β
