My family is pestering me to start thinking of christmas lists, so I can fill out grab bag lists when we pull names (around the middle of november) so I thought it would be appropriate to start compiling of list (sorted by $$$value) for things other then gift certificates. I welcome all suggestions. Because I am your normal golfer, anything and everything in my golf world can be replaced, upgraded, etc. I have started, and will fill in suggestions (edit this thread) as people post suggestions.

Under $10
Tee's
golf magazine subscriptions

Under $20
Golf Balls (personally, I like the Top flight D2 feels)
Golf Hats
Golf Gloves (be sure to specify which hand, as right handed people need left handed gloves, etc)
Sport socks (those with the wicking material if you like to walk)
Golf shirts (depending on where you shop)

Under $50
Premium Golf balls (if that is your thing)

Under $100

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

Heh, good idea. I've already been asked what I'd like for christmas and came up with a puzzled face and a "what do I need?".

For the cheaper side of things, you could also include gloves, shirts, basically other clothing. Shoes come a bit more expensive, then you're into bag country.

$10 - Light up golf balls for when you're finishing up a twilight round
$15 - glove, hat, shirt, headcover, towel, fancy divot/ballmarker/swiss army knife tool
$50-100 - wedge
$40 - pitching net for your backyard

Dunno how this may fit:
$100 - driving range key (1200+ balls)
$100-150 - hybrid
$200 - push cart

I can think of all sorts of things I'd like to spend money on.

I am beginning to envy my friend's Golf Buddy.

Cheap family oriented idea:
I have been doing a very unoriginal thing by gathering up some vintage balls and my old persimmons and displaying them in front of a golf picture. A person could provide things to their kids or grandkids and have them put something together for you, that would be a gift that goes both ways. Our kids know we love the game.

Frogger Ball Towel - $12 I didn't have any interest in this one until my wife got me one for my birthday. I clipped it to my putter head cover and it works great. I really like it.

Golf is off limits as it relates to my christmas wishlist. The last thing I need is to be given something I don't need or want or even worse I ask for it, find out I hate it and not use it. Yikes! Besides my inlaws are not golfers and everything golf related thing they have attempted to get for me was not very usefull. I would suggest a golf gift certificate. Christmas is more about giving than receiving any way. O hwait one golf related item no one could screw up, golf movies, Bobby Jones, Tin Cup, Caddy Shack, the greatest Game, etc.

In my family the "kids" which include me, my wife, her sisters, brother, and spouses, all do a gift exchange. Each picks a name out of a hat, and you have $100 to use for a gift/gifts. Only rule is you can't pick your spouse. The last three years I've asked for clubs (hybrid, wedge, and putter). Since my in-laws aren't golfers, I specify exactly what I want on a printed list, so whoever is buying can take it into the store and hand it to the employee.

In the bag:

How about providing a list of your favorite golf retailers so they can get you a gift card.

This even works for online stores as well.

Unfortunately in my experience I've ended up with Top Flite X-outs and gimmick tees as golf related christmas gifts

we do exactly the same thing, with the same limit. Generally, what I have done is write out ONE christmas list and hand it to my wife. I then let her distribute it to all those people that she is considering, after she has crossed off items she is purchasing or intending on purchasing for me.

In the past I have asked for gift certificates to sears (for tools) Dennis Kirk (last year I got a new snowmobile helmet) and this year, I have put Hireko Golf (website i order parts and pieces to build my own clubs) and golf galaxy (has the pro that I have been working with)

    • Day 24: did a stack session. Worked a bit on downswing feels during breaks.
    • Day 444 - 2025-12-18 Light day of hotel room work. GEARS Summit v2.0 today. Good day.
    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
