Fundamentally very nice.
Very confident. Good balance. Athletic. In 6 months she will beat most of the hackers who will comment on her swing by a mile.
The shot from behind up until impact is pretty close to perfect. She scoops it up a little bit. But that's potentially a fine golfer, you're working with there.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

her swing looks very nice. maybe just trying to lift it a tad. i'd tell her to just stay down a little longer until after impact. just trust that the club will get the ball in the air. also, i'd recommend to her to not take her backswing past parallel, keep the backswing a little shorter and compact. she will probably be a very good player in time. not much to critique from what i saw.

very nice swing. 2 comments thought 1) Lag. looks like she is giving up the angle too short. (which also may contribute to the long backswing.) i think if you looked at slow motion here, you would see negative lag. This also might be way she feels like scooping the ball. 2) Would like to see a bit more extension on the follow through. She looks to be short arming the follow through a little . I'd recommend the 9-3 drill for her to maximize acceleration through impact and good position.

I wish i had someone that good as a playing partner, im sure looks much better than my swing, never videotaped mine as I dont have a way to do so, I think I wouldnt want to see what it looked like. She must have been playing for a while, doesnt look like a beginners swing to me. I love how some people will find fault with anyone as with some of the comments ive already read. I wouldnt tell her a thing if I were you, looks pretty fundamentally sound to me and if your handicap is correct, if she hits all her clubs like the 7 iron, she'll give you a run for your money when you play. It appears to be rather dark so i couldnt see how far the ball went that well but looks like she was getting pretty good distance. Be happy you've got a gf that is willing to put the effort into practicing and taking the game seriously to improve, reminds me I need to do more practicing myself as there is plenty i can improve on.

she has an nice swing. my only comment is for her to try to find a comfortable tempo, her is on the quick side but this might be the tempo that works for her. sometime a slower backswing might make you more consistent but each golfer is different.

Not bad.

She is casting the club though, probably pulls a lot of balls (pull-fade would be my guess) because of the outside-in consequence of casting the club.

    • Day 37, June 10.  Today was primarily WFH, so I had several practice sessions (indoors, off a mat, into the net).  At least one each of U, 9, and 6-iron full swings with the usual priority.   I also tried a few times a putting type stroke with my 4H, as something I should probably learn how to hit (and what it does), but the mechanical shot at home off a mat doesn't tell me much of what it's doing.  That's something I should probably try on a real green, not during a round until I've tried it.
    • Day 10 (10 Jun 26) - Played in the midweek shootout at my home course - on aerated and sanded greens - day of trying to figure tempo to get the best roll on the greens.  Approach game was decently solid as was shots off the tee.
    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
