I have 9 putters. One mallet, 2 perimeter weighted and 6 blades. If all goes right on ebay in the next 2 days, that could be many many more blades - muahaha!

This was an evil thread, when new I had just bought my first new putter in 40 years, now I have five more. Scottys are too expensive so I have bought several Taylormade putters and a couple odd ball ones. I think it is going to be fun to "collect" Taylormades. One thing that is interesting is the evolution of the Rossa Logo from a red swan to a firebird.

I have 4 putters:

- Scotty Cameron Custom Shop Teryllium Newport, 35" (at Custom Shop right now)
- Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2, 33"
- Odyssey Black Series #3, 33"
- Odyssey SRT White Hot 2-Ball, 35"

The last three are all putters I've bought within the last 2-3 years, but I've had the Teryllium Newport since I was 12 years old (I saved up my money an entire summer to buy it). I recently found it in my parent's garage, and it was completely rusted over since I never really took all that good care of it. For a Christams gift from my wife this year, I'm having it refinished at the Scotty Cameron Custom Shop. Since they can't restore the original black finish, I'm having them put a "ProPlatinum" finish on it. I'm also having a sightline put on the flange and having my initials (MSD) engraved on it. It should be back mid-January, so we'll see how it turns out then.

I have an odyssey white hot 2 ball that I've had since 8th grade, and then before my senior year I got a custom Edel putter made for me. I love both of them and they go in and out of the bag often. I have only used the Edel for a year now so hopefully this year I can consistently keep it in the bag all season long.

I have 2, an old MacGregor that I bought to mess with in college and an Odyssey Sabertooth . The next on my wish list is a Odyssey White Ice #9. Since I will probably never see the Scotty Cameron Napa California putter.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
