I wish i could be into cars. I'm only 17 and have an old VW Jetta 2.0T. It uaually gets to point B, its getting back to point A wherein lies the problem. I'm not an american car fan, but not much looks better than the new Chevy Camero. I'm more of a Japanese car fan though. I love the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo but if i could have any car it would be the 2002 Nissan Skyline GT or the 2010 model (minus the skyline)part- now its just the GT). German cars are OK but i'm more of a sporty car fan rather than luxury.

Whooo...yeah, the GTRs look nice, but you can't get it in black because you really can't see the lines and curves that well. I've seen a few around, they are sweet looking!!

RocketSauce: Are those purple seats in the mustang? LOVE purple...

its not really "purple", it just looks that way in the photo. the paint on the car changes colors as you look at it from different angles and thats the way those parts of the seats are too

I love cars as well, specifically german cars. I believe they have a higher build quality than any other countries cars...just IMO. I went to a vw dealership today and test drove an mkv gti 6 speed. I loved it, and hopefully my father will buy it for me as my first car!

I think generally VW's are decent quality but for whatever reason their 1999-2001 model years have a reputation for being riddled with problems. And of course, i have a 2000 which has needed almost 2k worth of work in the last year...ugh

Peter Sauber bought the team back from BMW, and as of yesterday he secured the final grid spot for next year. Whether or not he'll make it on the grid for the first race is something completely different.

i LOVE cars! I kind of have a problem with collecting them too, lol. I have:

good lord that Challenger is freaking GORGEOUS!!! Ive always wanted one of those. i even want one of the new ones, hehe... My Tundra is all black.... And yeah, we've talked cars before on this site before. Your collection destroys mine. I love MOPAR stuff too. In fact, I'd love to sell off everything I have and start over with MOPAR stuff. I just love the Challengers, Chargers, Darts, Roadrunners, and of course the infamous HEMI. Thanks for posting that photo of the Challenger. that thing is beautiful

Just curious, where did you find the Challenger and what kind of price did you get it for in that condition (pre-restoration). Did it have the original 440 in it? AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kinds words!

I answered an ad in craigslist for a guy selling a vintage yo-yo. He lived in a sketchy 'hood in Oakland and I wasn't too pleased that he was not home when I went over to look at the toy. There were a couple of kids playing catch with a ratty nerf ball in the street so I joined them. One of them tossed the ball down a driveway and I went to go get it. I saw a car cover with an unmistakable profile and went and rang the doorbell. The owner came out in a robe and slippers and we talked for a bit and he showed me the car. It had the original 440 and trans but had 4 coats of different-colored paint, limo lights, a radio shack HOME alarm, square 80's Cutlass headlights, flared wheel wells, traction bars and some other junk. I asked him if he'd sell it and he said yes, but that everyone who wanted to buy it could not come up with the money. I asked him to let me try. He said $3,500 and I said "Show me the title." He did and we went to the bank and to DMV and I drove the car home and came back later that night for my truck. It was a great score - the car has A/C, a white interior and top, the sublime green paint with a 1 of 1 (so far as anyone knows) ledger green stripe combo. It has the original fender (stamped) tag that details the options. The car has been with a friend for 3 years getting restored and I will have it in hand in 1-2 weeks. I can't wait! Oh I forgot to mention that I had the motor totally rebuilt with aluminum heads and a stroker crank. It's 500ci and makes 600+ HP and TQ. Should be fun. Big trunk for clubs, too.

I'm the opposite situation. After my residency, I moved from a large city to a modest small town. I have an E-Class that sticks out like a sore thumb!

    • 39/39/78 for an 8.7 differential. Ball striking was good. Putting and chipping was off just enough to prevent a very good score.
    • Worst thing on Sunday was that NBC and Peacock wouldn't let me FF through the commercials on my DVR recording. Very boring when a guy has a huge lead on the final round and everyone else is playing for 2nd place. At least it was USA 1-2-3 in the end.
    • First day of a trip to Bandon Dunes. We played Sheep Ranch today. A Coore/Crenshaw designed course. A par 34 on the front and 38 on the back. With 8 holes with either a green, tee box, or the hole runs along the edge of the bluffs at the pacific. It has amazing vistas. With wide fairways and intermixed gorse bushes. The defense of the course are its large, undulated greens and the daily winds from the north. Many times you need to take 3-4 clubs more, if you even barely cross the wind, your ball can be taken offline or come up half to a full club short. A fantastic layout.    here are some photos.
    • At Sheep’s Ranch, Bandon Dunes. Shot an 84. That wind was nasty going from like hole 7 forward. It was like a 3-4 club wind if in the face. Greens are tricky with the natural grass.
    • Yes. The full swing is not that different, and speed is important with all of them. You don't see Tour players hitting their driver 310 and then hitting their 7I 160. Of course, but they're nothing like those for the full swing.
