Swinging golf clubs in the house..

I usually swing the club in the house like a PW or my Leadbetter swing training aid. No incidents have ever came from it except for today.

I murdered my bookshelf. I dont know how i didnt notice it was right there but it is now missing a big chunk out of it... needless to say the wife is not to happy.


I know im not the only one whose done something like this share your stories!!!

I can make full swings at full speed with my 58*......as long as I chock up to the base of the grip.

When I forget to choke up on the club I can get a decent little mark on my ceiling. As a result I just use my Almost Golf balls to practice short game.

I've broken lights, put holes in the wall, and have left ugly marks on the roof.

Ya, put a mark in my ceiling tile swinging a pitching wedge, ha ha. I only take full swings in my basement now since there is tons of room.

One of the things I know to look for when I get a house in a few years is for at least one room to have a ceiling high enough to swing at least a 6-iron in the room. Then I will make certain to set the furniture to allow for this.

I swing a golf club a lot in the house a lot and have only caused damage once.

I had a light wood and I gripped it very lightly and swung it as hard as I could. The club went flying out of my hands hit the ceiling and made a crack in the ceiling but it wasn't too bad.
I've got a couple of marks on the ceiling from clipping them a few times.

I have 9 ft ceilings and I can swing my 5 iron

I've got a cathedral ceiling in the living room. 13 feet to the top.

I can swing about whatever I want, however, I usually just swing a hybrid when I'm working on plane or whatever.

I do some chipping down the entryway hall with some foam golf balls.

I haven't caused any damage yet, but the first time that I do, you can bet the Mrs. will put a halt to swinging indoors.

I also have 9' ceilings on the first floor. I can actually swing my driver in there and have never hit anything.

For my 3rd floor loft, I can swing up to a 7i. That being said, I have hit the fan several times and the ceiling has two large gashes in it.

Last year I was swinging my driver in the garage and hit the door framing. I put a huge dent in my driver. That sucked.

Fairly low ceilings here so there's plenty of ugly black marks on the ceiling aswell.Most wash off but there's damage to the plaster occasionally.Also accidentally hit a golf ball off the wall once or twice, leaving lovely dimple impressions in the plaster.

I once took a broken shaft and cut to to about half length, added a little weight to get the feel right, and put on a new grip. I could swing it anywhere and not touch a thing.

Just a couple of day ago after my 58* showed up, i took a divot in the carpet in the living room. just laid it over like i was in the fairway. i think it might have been from repeated strikes. either way, the ol' lady told me to play with my toys outside. went to golf galaxy and purchase a hitting mat.

living in an apt. there isn't alot of room for swinging clubs, but am moving in march and looking forward to more room.

i don't know if there is any truth to this but i heard some where that if you can't swing your driver in your living room, then your swing isn't flat enough. i'm sure it depends on how high your ceiling is though.

When I was younger, would swing in my room before bed. Had just enough clearance to make a full swing on one side of the room. Late at night, wasn't far enough to the side, made a full swing and hit the glass light cover. Came crashing down and shattered on the floor and I for sure thought I woke the folks up. Have also hit the wall many-a-times, just left some grey marks that are still there. Nothing a poster couldn't cover up.

I killed the marble top of my wife's antique wash stand many years ago. She still hasn't forgiven me.....although, as I remind her, if she hadn't put it there in the first place, it never would have happened.....

.....somehow she doesn't see it that way. Go figure.

I no longer swing clubs in the house.

I used to until one of my dogs popped out mid swing and i couldnt totally stop.

I slowed down enough so he was only tapped a bit but he screamed like he was badly beaten.

He now runs and hides whenever I go near a club.

I also have shattered a ceiling light with my putter, I was goofing off and took a full swing, not thinking there was a light above me.
