I suspect you have no iota of a clue what you're talking about. Anthony Kim is famous for choking up on his clubs: if anything, they're too long.

In my UnderArmour Links stand bag...

how does he get them in the air swinging so flat?

yeah man, elaborate a little bit. Like Chili Dipper said, AK's known for choking up on every club in his bag to enhance control. Sacrifices a little distance, but the little dude is crazy long as it is.

Id agree with the others in that his clubs are standard length, its just that he grips down on all of them. On "Tee It Up With Tiger" AK stated that he learned to play golf as a kid using his dad's clubs and had to grip down on them and simply feels much more comfortable gripping down.
He also stated that Nike made a set of clubs for him that were cut down and he still gripped down on them because it simply doesnt feel right for him to grip the club like most people do, so he simply went back to standard length clubs.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

So you call 1/2" sooo short?

and uhm... if your friend is pals with him, why don't you just have him ask AK so he can tell us why he uses clubs that are "so short". Seems like your the one with the connections... so you tell us.

Maybe your friend is wrong and got it backwards. This is from a Golf Digest "What's In the Bag" interview with AK:

"No fairway woods for me because this 14-degree Adams Idea Pro does all I need. It's got the Matrix Ozik hybrid shaft, half-inch over standard length. " This would make a lot more sense given his well-known preference to choke down a lot on every club.

The real question is ... how is it that this short guy hits it 100 yards past me everytime.

Him being AK or AK's pal? If you would... just have AK write down the exact specs for all of his clubs; length, lie, swingweight, loft, grip type and overall weight.

^^ and have him holding the piece of paper with those spec in an attached picture lol...

From what I understand through YouTube videos is: His clubs for the most part are standard length. He said Nike tried to make him a shorter driver, but he just choked up on that one too much. So he kept the standard size driver.

My Question is: Why not give him a club thats an inch too long therefore he will choke up to standard size? It seems too simple, must not be getting all the information.

AK's still a short guy - 5'8 or so. My height. So his "correct" fit is probably shorter than standard, so standard clubs - difference in grip --> correct fit. I suspect when Nike fits him, they give him clubs so that they're the right fit when he takes his grip.

    • Day 7 - Mirror work, trying to hit that PGA-logo position in my follow through. Mirror really helped, need to film soon.
    • So hit the😝 irons crooked AND play layup golf?? Hahaha.. no thanks. I would rather stay home. 😊
    • First - glad to see these popping up again. Now to the topic at hand - I would rather be option 1.  If I know how far it's going (I mean a yard or two) I can always play to the wider parts of the fairway and/or the green and still do reasonably well.  Now if I could just really hit the "number" that well.
    • Day 2 (10 Mar 25) - Long day of driving to dr appt with son.  Thankfully got in one of my fave putting drills (two ball side by side) - the goal to have both balls come off the putter face equally by having them come off the putter face as close to the same time as possible.  First few rolls - the toe was leading the way as that ball flew off the face.  By the end of the drill both balls were basically equal off the face, rolling to within a couple of inches of each other.  Nice drill of focusing on squaring the face.  BTW - I was using the old Odyssey DF992.
    • Day 161 - 2025-03-10 Got a decent, long session in. Focused mostly on the backswing feels, and moved on toward the end of the four hours (not all hitting balls, I installed a motion sensing light switch in there too, and worked with a student over FaceTime for a bit) on the downswing feel.
