I'm watching. Currently, in fact.

I framed the question in the past tense since it'll be over tomorrow...

Caught about 20 minutes the last few days but watched about an hour tonight. USGA gets more TV coverage than the Women's British Open.

I've actually been following it more than I thought I would. For some reason, there is a bigger draw (for me) to amateur golf whenever it is on TV.

Fairways and Greens.

I haven't watched every night, but watched quite a bit thursday and caught a few minutes friday night. I feel there is inherent drama in a tournament round that at some point always turns into sudden death, next hole loss and your gone.

I caught most of the back 9 of the final, plus about 2 hours coverage more or less earlier in the week.

I watched a little bit every day of the U.S. Women's Amateur, but I didn't watch more than 30 minutes per day.

I'm very excited for the U.S. Men's Amateur Championship, however. It's one of my favorite events in golf, and it's sad that it has lost its luster in recent years. This year, there are five Okie St. guys in the field which makes it that much cooler for me.

Then again, I'm a fan of college golf, so take it for what it's worth.

I didn't watch all of it but caught the last hour of Sat and Sun....amazing to watch how much talent these kids have.

I thought it was amazing that so few college kids were even in the round of 16.

    • Without knowing the study at all, this could be more of a reflection of who is tournament ready and who isn't. If you have a quick trigger, it could mean your swing is working really well. Fidgeting, lots of rehearsals, maybe means your swing's not functioning as well as you'd like it to and you need more time to feel it all out before you hit your shot.
    • A study done by the European Tour shows spending less time over the ball produces better shots.  This makes sense. I can see where if you are over the ball a long time you lose the ability to make a more athletic swing. There is also the possibility of just overthinking the shot while over the wall as well and not being in the right headspace.
    • I recently picked up a vintage Ping Hoofer Lite carry bag.  I am not sure how old it is but estimate it is probably from around 2012 or so? I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps! I am going to try to attach a picture of the bag and will also describe it below. I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps in a way that makes the bag comfortable to carry.  The bag also seems to want to be more upright/ vertical than how you would normally carry a bag like this. I have tried to search this site and others on the web but almost all info is on the newer ping Hoofer bags which have quite a different design. The bag is pretty minimal in terms of pockets and has no handle on the top.  It has 2 backpack straps that are not connected to each other.  They are connected to the top of the bag and in the middle of the bag above the primary ball/ gear pocket. Any feedback appreciated, thanks for your help!
