I just re registered and tweeked a few answers to meet their criteria. Hopefully it works

Did the same thing as you, tweaked a few answers, and now I have a 6i on the way.

I am curious why this give away is so popular ? I have only played a few brands of clubs, never TM, so would like to try one of their clubs. I know this set is fudged up on the lofts, but is the 6i the same length as a 6i or a 5i ? I guess it's 'only' probably an inch or two, so it should be subtle. I let you know what I think.

There are plenty of uses:

Backup in case you lose one, and can't immediately get a replacement that matches. If you have fewer than 14 clubs, and want a tree club, here's this. If you're bringing a friend to the range, and he likes golf, you can give it to him as a starter club to take to the range before he has to commit to buying golf clubs.

Good suggestions. I think I might use it for home defense. Or perhaps it could be useful around the garden!

I actually got my 6 iron a couple of weeks ago, and I must say it is a very, very nice club. I´ve been playing steel shafted X-18s for over 2 years and with the new burner I noticed a significant improve on accuracy and feel (don´t care for distance, since for me it´s all about choosing the right club, no matter if it´s a 5 or a 6).
The club looks really cool too, I got a regular graphite shaft, which is, of course, a lot lighter than my x-18´s iron 6.
I think there are some posters on this forum trying to mislead people on the quality of the burner irons set, which I personally think are great, and actually are a strong candidate for my next set purchase...probably around august. I can´t understand how somebody can say that technology is not an improving factor in the game, if that was true we´d still be playing those ugly little-headed wooden drivers, and those really heavy irons.
Also, I don´t see why I should be playing my clubs until they get rusty and useless, that´s a pretty cheap thinking. If you like a set which make you feel more confident on your game, even if you play them as as good as your 1.9XX Ping Eye irons, and you have the money, why not going for them?. For me it´s like cars, you don´t run the same car for 20 years even if it runs perfectly well, if you have the chance to go for a nicer and newer one, why not doing it?. I know is not the arrow, it´s the indian, but I´m sure that golf companies I&D; departments are not losing their time on inventing more efficient technologies.
Just my 2 cents...

Mine came in the mail today and I happened to be going to the range tonight so I gave it a try. It feels nice but I didn't really feel any significant improvement or feel blown away by it in any way. If I were at the store trying it out I don't think it wouldn't inspire me to buy a set of burners. It's a little hard to tell at my range but I don't think I was hitting it any further than my Adams A3 6 iron.

Well I'll give you a hint on how it performs. It hits very low, hard rolling shots. It's a distance club, and feels like one. There's absolutely no feel, just the dull impact and large distance. I hit it about 20 yards farther than my standard 6 iron. But it's not worth it, it feels quite flimsy.

Although if you got it for free, all the better. I used it once on the course for a huge, higher than a 3 iron shot to the green.

Got my Taylormade Burner 6-iron in the mail today.....it's a nice clean looking, well made club.....being a blade guy, I was weary, but I'm impressed after taking my first look at the club.....will hit it this weekend and see how it works out....

damnit..... I got this.....and a code for anyone who wants a discount on a TM burner

Thank you for participating in Project Burner. The response has been overwhelming, with participants far outnumbering the amount of free 6-irons available. Because of that, we are unable to send you a free Burner 6-iron. However, to show our appreciation for your participation, TaylorMade and Project Burner are offering you $10 off any online purchase at http://shop.taylormadegolf.com/. Enter code "burner10" at checkout to apply your discount.

I, too, just got the email saying I'm not getting them. Oh well; it's anyone's guess what I would have done with it had I gotten it.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
