This was meant for Erik and anyone who would like to share ideas about putting something together. I figured since it's early or even before the season that I'd throw out the idea of possibly meeting up with other SandTrap-ers for a handicapped tournament or scramble or something of that nature in various parts of the US. This is still a very vague idea but i've already seen quite a few people talking/threading living close to each other or at least driving distance. How would anyone feel about something like this? Coming up with a definitive date/weekend for an event in order to plan hotel if needed and a round or four at a local course or set of courses...I'd be willing to help organize/plan with some help from others if this was something people would want to do...discuss...any ideas are more than welcomed

This is a great idea. I saw the "Dallas Ft. Worth poor man's tour" and I was a bit jealous. Im actually playing with 3 other TST members on Saturday down in Tampa.

there is a very good chance i wouldnt make the handicap for this event but i like the idea and would be in if the handicap make it to the 20's lol

Perhaps we could get people from various areas to have organizers for that area? I live in Eastern PA/NJ and would travel to central PA for golf (weekend) or anything in the NJ area. It's good to see such enthusiasm...who else do we have from PA/NJ that'd be game? Jamo, I'm sure there are a few courses up your way that a few ppl could get to without a problem...

Hey - what about us out here in Cali? Funny that the OP had said the season was early or about to start. Other than a couple of rainy days two weeks ago we have been playing year round. I played last weekend (Sat & Sun) at 7 am and was wearing shorts and a polo shirt. If anyone is in the Los Angeles area lets make this happen!

I could organize New England. I don't want to sound selfish, but the best place would likely be near me, or a little west of where I live, because there are people from RI, but I don't think there is anyone from Maine, NH, or Vermont on this forum.

I would have to say either Tampa or Orlando are the best central locations in FL with several nice golf courses. Just need a few more Floridians to get on board with this thread and discuss some details.

I'd definitely be interested, but I'm in northeast NJ, not sure if eastern PA is in my realm of travel... even getting down to Princeton would take me 1.5 hrs!
