Nike New Tiger TV Commercial

Have you seen this? I have worked in TV and marketing for 30+ years and I have never seen a TV commercial that was in as poor taste as this one!! I have contacted Nike and expressed my disgust. I was just compelled to do so.

Because I make a part of my living producing TV commercials and representing pro athletes - and this leaves a bad taste. It's just not the right way to promote .... there is no positive message for the product ... I see it as Nike taking advantage of their "property" (Tiger) and if one of my clients were in that situation I would not allow it - no matter what the price tag. It's just in poor taste, in my opinion anyway .....

Just saw it on Golf Channel. It's touching if you are feeling sorry for him. I don't! I don't care what his dad would have said to him. I just want him to get back to playing and stop all this damn HYPE. Even ESPN is going to show his first Tee shot. What have we become?

As for Nike promoting there product. Isn't that marketing is suppose to do?

Alright, whatever, Nike commercial. No big deal... What happened to the Nike slogan under the logo though??? Hmm, I thinking that "Just Do It" will be absent from any commercial featuring Tiger, at least for a bit anyway.

I personally don't have a problem with the commercial and like the idea. I can see his father saying those things to him at the point he is at right now. I have no sympathy for tiger but I like the commercial.

Yeah, right. Sorry, but everyone has a price on things like that. Your over-reaction is just that... an over-reaction. It is what it is, and to me, it's less than I've already given credit in writing as much (what, three sentences? four?) about it. So I'm done.

I've seen it a couple of times now... I don't have a problem with it. It's not over the top, and shows he's starting over.
