Played 9 today. Good and bad.

Full Swing - Right arm straighter feel needs to be there 100%.

Short Game - Just needs a good couple of practice sessions to polish. Too long of backswing most of the time.

Putting - more straight back and straight through “feel” works well. Hitting center of putting face more.

Just checking.

Are you healthy again? I seem to remember you going through some injury issues. Are all of those behind you now? Or are you still doing PT?

Yep, I almost flagged an 8 iron just exaggerating my right elbow backswing stuff 🤣

Just a suggestion.. do a left hand-only 'trial'. You can do in your living room. Ensure arm structure stays intact throughout the swing and the wrist does not break down until well after impact. It will possibly help you identify if it's a right side (trail) over/early-dominance, weight-shift timing, pivot stall, hand path issue, some combo of these, etc.

I am sure I might get some stalling. Maybe the sequence is a bit out of sync. I also tend to flip more when I overswing.

Doing really good. It’s rejuvenated me a bit. I’m going to start weight lifting soon.

That's good to hear. Take care of yourself. Golf is more fun when it's pain free. 👍👍

Went up to Erie for a golf lesson with @iacas

Two and a half items

1) Shorter backswing (hello old friend) - Feel mostly turn only, straight arms, stop backswing when golf shaft is vertical to ground (I might make this more of a turn feel or arm position feel), slight pause.

*Video Check - Hands do not get behind my head and the club is at a 45-degree angle from parallel on the face-on view.

2) Downswing - Feel the downswing being arms only. Send hands out away from body to neutral out swing path. The body will turn. The key is going to feel the pause to set up the feel of arms down. If I turn first and add right elbow bend, I am screwed.

*This one might be difficult to check on video. The feel right now is very distinct. I was very much a turn the body first, then lower the club with both the arms and side bend.  When you don't do any of that, you can feel it. I feel way taller through impact as well.

2.5) Straighten left knee sooner. Pushing my left hip up and back by pressing into the ground with my left heel. Kind of something to work own, but not necessarily a priority right now.

Shot Shape versus Feel

Straight shots (slight draws) will feel like slight pulls for now. I was hitting 5 yard pulls, and it felt like I was going to miss the green left.  Just perception versus reality. I got plenty of ingrained intuition of what a good shot shape is for a path that is heading 6+ degrees out. The new path is going to be like 1-3 degrees out, maybe close to neutral if I really exaggerate the feel. That is a pretty big change in path. The feel through impact is just different.

On a side note, I was hitting my 7 iron like 8 yards farther. 🤯. I am kind-of scared when I use my legs better. It's probably due to the following.

1) De-lofting the club better because the arms are getting down better.
2) Presenting better launch conditions (15-16 VLA, 5900 rpm, 115-Ft peak height, 98 mph ball speed, 1.34 smash factor, 193 carry).
3) I was probably using my legs a bit better because I don't need to keep the left knee flexed. It wasn't like I was trying to be very dynamic in using the ground for power.

Chipping & Pitching

Much more straight back and up feel for both pitching and chipping. Lots more shoulder tilt in the backswing, and keeping the weight on the left side during the downswing and through impact. I need to pivot left and up, not re-transfer my weight back to the right side. I need to take a way shorter backswing. I was able to hit those low spinners. I may need to invest into some new golf balls at some point this year.

*A good drill for me would be to set up facing a wall, and feel like the club goes up the wall. It won't, but it gets the club on a much better swing arc. I was actually trying to picture that a wall was right on the other side of the ball and I had to swing up the wall while hitting some shots today.

Adding in make sure alignment of the torso is matching the feet line and too my target. Outdoors I was hitting everything right. I dropped my left shoulder back to my left heel, opening everything up and now I can pivot better and hit my target line.

Didn’t score the best, but probably the best I’ve done implementing the swing feels on the course.

Preshot routine - make one practice swing hands down only hitting  the ground like 3 ft behind the ball. Make a 2nd practice swing where I add a bit of turn back in.

Set up and make a swing with those feels.

Driver - A stripe show. Just laser beams at my target. Like under 10 yards of curve.

Irons - pretty solid. Contact was flush. Just slight pull draws. Just need a bit of face control. It’s close. I had an 8 iron that left the club, didn’t leave the flagstick. The ball probably moved 1 yard in the air. I came up like 4 yards short.

Distance wedges - Needs work.

Short Game - needs work from different lies.

Putting - Made almost everything inside of 10 ft.

Going forwards, still going to work on the swing. Backswing length and arms down stuff.

I need to work on my distance wedges a lot.

I think for this, I need to work on my weight transfer. I can feel my self looking up early and falling back slightly. So, I am hitting them a bit fat right now. I need to stay on my left side better or get to my left side better. Kind of like old pattern stuff.

Yep, I was a bit worried about the driver since we didn't get to it. First drive was a push draw because I moved the ball back a bit because there is no range to warm up and I wanted to make sure contact was good. I hit it great, just pushed it slightly. I was like, OK, this will work. I moved the ball back to the normal position and the next 4 out of 5 holes I used a driver was just the ball at most 10 yards off my target line. 😃

Today was a round of hitting few great shots, and many bad shots. Distance wedges with perfect technique, but horrible distance control. Putting where I couldn't buy a putt. A short game that gave me opportunities for an up and down.

The biggest issue was just hooking the ball off the tee, and pull drawing my irons. I know I am not doing my arm stuff the correct way. Swing has to stay shorter, and I have to neutral out that path a bit. I literally had a wedge where I made a good turn, started the arms down, then about when the club was halfway down my right side dipped back. I hit the ball slightly fat out of the rough and pushed it a smidge right. Its close in some ways, but it need some work.

Got to hit the range to work on this stuff. Short game is serviceable, not a detriment to my game.

Yea, I finally planned out generally my next six months of scheduling, I want to adhere to. Let’s just say there’s a lot of time right after work that says golf practice followed by workout. 🤣

Definitely better

Warning, mute the mic. Annoying slow motion background noise.

Backswing: Stop hands and club at A3. Feel the pause

Downswing: At min, arms down with torso turn. Been trying to trigger this more with my left leg straightening.

I just may accept always been a bit steep. I’ve been trying to play around with opening the clubface a bit. Might as well hit a fade for now or ever, lol.

Think about this: at P5.5 what would you need to do to make the club shaft go from red line to green line:
