I carried my bag until I was 40 or so, then went to a cart because of my back. All I can say is "DUH!" What an IDIOT I was all those years. Dumb. And like you, I played a lot of "Emergency Nines" after the regular round. And hit balls. Not quite as extreme as you, but a lot of golf nonetheless.

When they came with the pushers, I couldn't believe how much better it was than a pull cart! Fantastic! the bag goes around the course almost by itself.

If you don't get a cart, I'd have to say you're as big an idiot as I was!

I would say 99.9% of golfers in Ireland would use a push cart, I actually think you would look very odd if you carried your bag over here as you would be the odd one out

I'm 30 and have an old man push cart. I did it because of knee surgery. I was going to go back to carrying becuase I thought it was just too easy to push that cart around and wanted some excercise. I carried for one round and thought, man that wasn't fun carrying that stupid bag what was I thinking. Back to the push cart. Let them make fun of you as you're putting their cash in your pocket.

uhh....the PROs don't carry their own bags...why should you? Seriously, if you are playing 27 holes a day then I assume you are trying to become 'some kind of professional' in the golf arena. Use a cart, it makes the game much more enjoyable.

I'm 28 and switched to a trolley last year - I have never looked back, not once. The only times I would carry now are if I'm only carrying a few clubs for a par-3 round. Otherwise, trolley, cart bag, food, drinks, the works. Life's too short to carry a bag.

Now going electric - that is another story...

Go for the cart. It's enough to be walking 27 holes without carrying the clubs too.

I'm 26, and I use a push cart (Clicgear 2.0). I use it for several reasons. First of all, the course I play at has a bunch of elevation change and can be quite tiring to walk while carrying your bag. With a push cart I don't have to lug my bag up the hills (I still have to push it but it's not anywhere near as bad), and going downhill I can just let the push cart go and walk down the hill without anything to push/pull/carry. Second, with all the horror stories I've heard about people with bad backs and the pain they go through, I want to make sure that I'm taking care of myself early on before it's too late to do anything. Third, I can pack as much crap in my bag as I want (rain gear/umbrella, extra towel, ball retriever, etc.) without having to worry about the extra weight.

At the end of the day, it shouldn't matter what your age is; if you want to use one, go for it.

Push carts rock.....I love my push cart and wouldn't have it any other way......I get to walk without stressing my back or knees, it's a win-win......

I've only been made fun of by two people......guys in carts with a 12 pack in their cooler, or I've gotten a few looks from 16 year olds....I'm too old to care what anyone things anymore....waking up without back pain is all the glory I need

BTW, I am jealous - those clickgear rides are freaking sweet, congrats on the purchase...

Wow, I'm jealous as hell....that is a nice "position" imo......BTW, you should use a push cart without a second thought -- this should be nobody's decison but your's (and you certainly don't need to apologize or justify your position to anyone).

Well said....You are young now, but someday your body will start to break down. Take care now to prolong your health!!!

Yeah, anyone that gives you crap isn't worth your time. Use the cart and enjoy yourself out there. That's an awful lot of strain on your back, playing 135+ holes per week. You've actually kinda put the thought into my head to get one. I enjoy walking a lot more than riding so I would definitely get use out of a push cart.

I love my bagboy sidekick. The beverage holder is a nice feature (easy access to water), and the fact is that it lets you play with a big ol cart bag, like others have said. And that has a ton of advantages in and of itself. By the way, I'm 24 too.
