He has been playing the Nike SQ 2 (2, not squared) woods since they came out. They are the smallest fairway woods Nike has made since they came out and Nike's best IMO.

Thanks for the info. Mine is squared. I'd be curious to see if I ever can find one of the smaller ones, to see if I like it more.

Stensons last hole was kind of funny. 270 yards from tee, and then he shoots 305 yards from fairway and makes the eagle putt. He didn't use driver a single time and he was -5 for the four par 5s (is at -3 total). Think this could be an interesting week again for Stenson.

I don't recall ever seeing Stenson hit driver during a round.

Man o Man was it hot out there today. I sat in a tower to the right of the 16th green for a few hours then walked around. Said "Hi" to Tiger this morning. It was my first time ever seeing him or Phil play. Tiger said Hello back. I was pretty excited like a little school girl lol. Rickie played terrible, but Lee Westwood was the shining star of that threesome. He was still chipping and putting at 4:45 when we left.

Awesome day for my first Players Championship.

That's cool, it's a lot of fun to meet and watch the players and to follow them from hole to hole while they work their magic around the course, no doubt these guys are special

Bubba missed the cut

Ryan Moore had a really rough end of his round: he was 12-under for awhile, but carded two doubles and a bogey in his last seven holes. The good news is that he won't have to finish on the front nine again; he shot 31-30 on the back for the first two rounds.

Slocum, Crane, and Donald look to be the class of the evening session, where the winds are causing more problems than in the morning. It should be interesting to see how they stack up against the top three tomorrow.

I am so bummed that Rickie Fowler isn't going to make the cut. I couldn't wait to see him in that pretty orange outfit again.

I'll take Westwood to win, with Cabrera, Mickelson, Zach Johnson and AK waiting in the wings.

Man, this dude's pretty smart. Well, at least the Westwood part.

The telling statistic of the early conditions: out of the 70 players who made the cut, only 3 scored rounds over par on Friday.

How can you "think" anything about such a question? We will have to wait and see.

Phil played himself on the first page of the leaderboard early. 7-under for the day, 10-under for the tournament. He wants that number one ranking, and he's got the instinct.

I was mostly refering to the short side tee shot at 3 then the tee shot in the woods on 6. The birdies, however, have been quite nice.

    • Day 566, May 21, 2024 Six-iron swings in the back yard. Felt good. It's hot here, though.
    • Yep. It’s easy to get distracted during the day and hardly drink any water. Our bodies do not have a good systems to warn us early enough. Some tips I like. Drink 16+ ounces of water when you wake up. The body can lose 1-2 lbs of water weight overnight. You are already in the red. If you know you are going to work out, or even walking 9 holes of golf. Drink water before hand and during the exertion. I was curious once, I did a 40 ish minute workout and I lost about 5 lbs of water weight. That is 80 ounces of water I need to replenish. Now I try to drink 24-36 ounces beforehand.  Aim for half an ounce of fluid, per pound of bodyweight, per day. Note, this is baseline not taking into account exercise or strenuous activity. Also, if you eat non processed foods, you can get a good amount through diet. If you eat processed foods, you need to drink more during the day.
    • Anyone in the group play tennis and interested in playing some tennis this weekend while we are away on recreation?  @StuM I messaged you about hotel accommodations please let me know what you can do.
    • That's kind of what I thought.  The ap maybe fine, but Shotscope is so inexpensive and works really well. I'm surprised more golfers don't use it.
    • Me too. I tend to drink no less than 64 oz in the winter time. In the summer at least twice that.  I'm prone to cramping and cramping sucks. So, I drink plenty of water. BTW - I've become increasingly prone to cramping as I've aged. Aging sucks also.    Huh?  I'd love to know where you got this information. Did you ask your dog?  I'm not sure if I like or dislike the taste of water. It's water. It's one of the things that makes life on Earth possible.
