Sometimes I wear an old Titliest Visor, but only if it's really hot cause I really hate wearing hats. If the Browns had a visor I'd wear that....

Tell me about it. For about 2 years, I wore an all white (except for the logo) Mets hat. More damned people would ask how I can be a fan of that team. It's especially frustrating where I'm at because it's a solid 80% Yankees fans here... and then there are about 10% Phillies fans.

That should buy manuel a couple more days..maybe with the savings from his firing the team can buy Wright a football helmet so he wont be afraid to hit the damn ball...

THE WEAPONS CACHE..

Hahaha... yeah, well... when the face of the team is struggling as badly as he has been... SOMETHING'S gotta be done. It's nice to see that they're winning with some good pitching right now. And, Reyes is gettin' hot again.

I like to wear golf related hats to get "in character", but I don't really care either way.

I don't normally wear team caps on the golf course but I don't have a problem with anyone wearing whatever they want. First off for me, most team cap I have are not golf friendly. Some are the heavy wool caps which would not be good for a round of golf. Others are nice to look at, and are fine wearing to a game, but are just not golf comfortable. Secondly, I sweat a lot on the course and my hats always end up with the sweat stains. I just don't want to do that to my good team hats. They tend to cost a little more so I want to keep the looking nice. Lastly, many golf hats are lightweight and designed to be breathable and not too hot, or evaporate moisture, or have a relaxed fit, that is what I look for in a hat. Many team hats are not designed like that, which is fine, that isn't what they are made for.

For me, golf hats serve a purpose, to play golf in. When they are FUBAR, I will replace them with another golf hat.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I'll vote for C. People should wear hats that fit their head - bright gaudy colours look ridiculous, regardless of what the logo is. Which Cleveland hat below would you not be caught dead in on a golf course?

A.)
B.)
c.)
D.)
E.)
F.) D and E
G.) None of the above - they all rock!

Ever wonder why the same guys always tend to wear a visor? Gusy like Dana Quigly or Luke Donald? They have a lot of forehead - relative to the rest of their face. Doesn't mean they can't look their best on the course though.

If I posted pictures of the various hat styles sported by the players below, you could probably match each to the owner based solely on whether they're a blockhead, pinhead, bald eagle, or whatever.

We can't all be Seve Ballesteros.

I wear my Giants hat out on the course most the time, been doing it for years. I was a huge fan of Titleist coming out with the hats with the team logos, my case the SF logo, on the side too. Combined my two favorite sports in one. I'll also wear a Titleist hat from time to time but am working on getting my game in form to be able to rock the visor.

I wonder how many people would see that green Scratch number and look for a little CFL emblem somewhere. It looks like a Riders hat - but it needs more watermelon.

until a golf manufacturer pays me to wear their logo on my hat I will wear continue to wear hats that sport the non-golf logo of my choice.

I agree and I actually make a concious effort to not wear hats and shirts with a company's logo. The one exception is my Titleist bucket hat that I picked up on vacation in Mexico for $10. I'm pretty sure it's a knockoff. To me, people wearing the clothes of the players on TV are total posers.

As far as the 'tards that show up with their favorite team bag, matching headcovers, hat and shirt? Ugggghhh. It's particularly bad here in Boise with the Bronco gear. Ten years ago the only place you'd see the team colors was on game day. Now every lard ass and fair weather fan bases their wardrobe around blue and orange. if I had to pick a PGA pro to emulate, it would have to be Ryan Moore. To each their own, but I think it's great he's not a complete advertising •••••. WTF!? ••••• gets bleeped? Why does ••••• deserve the little black dot treatment? ••••! Now that deserves the black dots. Whew. That's a bad one.

Whoever came up with the saying, "A bad day of golf is better than a good day at work", is a moron.

I don't mind what others play but I like to keep my clothes matching. I currently have a Nike yellow hat and a Titliest "stone" one. What's most important to me is that it's a fitted hat, I hate the adjustable ones.

BTW, thats a great handle, Bong_Crosby. Reminds me of Jason Segels usage of Bro Montana in I Love You Man.

When I read "yellow hat" this is the only guy can think of:

I know that's not what you look like on the course, but I thought I'd share anyway - sorry.

I never wear a hat on the course. But I say wear whatever you want. Golf isn't a fashion show, despite what Ian Poulter would have you think. I dress fairly well when I go out. My belt matches my shoes, my watch matches my belt.. argyle sweaters, slacks or shorts without cargo pockets, etc.. and I believe that you should look like a golfer when you play.

But I've had my ass handed to me on the course by guys in jeans and a tee shirts enough times to realize that people are who they are and their game is all that anyone should notice on the course.

If it fits on your head right then that's reason alone to rock it anywhere as far as I'm concerned. Church, wake, office.. people with asymmetric domes appreciate what it feels like to have a hat fit perfectly on your head. No place for haters on the golf course.

WOW!!! Never thought this would get many answers....

I also try to match the color of the hat to how I am dressed. It may not be all golf related, but I try to stay close to logo free as possible. I have to pay $25 per hat to be a walking billboard...I don't a cent back on that free advertisement.

I typically wear my black Titleist to match my black or white golf shirts, but when I get colorful like blue, red or orange, I either match the color or go for a white TM Burner hat.

As for golf clothes...there is certainly a benefit in buying the fast wicking type shirts. I play in Miami / Ft. Lauderdale area, and in the summer, anything else is murder!!!

    • Day 167 - 2025-03-16 Hit balls after a long day. Junior Elite and a few lessons. Meh.
    • It kinda is… and Tiger isn't super young anymore. You're missing the fact that Tiger changed the game. Golfers put far more strain and stress on their bodies now than they did fifty freaking years ago. The sport is different now. It's faster, and you have to be significantly better now to even make it to the PGA Tour let alone stay there than you did in Jack's day.
    • Well, at least it got fixed & you’ll be back nonetheless.
    • Day 5 March 16th, 2025 Went to the range for about an hour. Worked on backswing and downswing piece. Finally got to making shorter backswings. Feeling like the swing stops when hips get to hip height. That is more of a feeling for how much the hands move, the hands get closer to A3-A3.5.
    • Seems like Jack was pretty "old" when he won his last Masters. And Gary Player is still playing, despite being a fitness freak all his life. Years ago, Cary Middlecoff stated that Tiger was going to have back problems after he reached the age of 30, due to the body torque he used in his swing. But Tiger has also had plenty of issues with the rest of his body. And the car crash certainly didn't help. Has any golfer been as "injury prone" as Tiger?
