Here is an extra video of me hitting an 8 iron today.. From what I can see I'm not flipping the club but I would like to get my hips pushing more towards the left side but it looks better than what it used to.

Try to move the video to the 13 second point....right leg has collapsed and left knee is pointing too far behind the ball....left foot should be flat on the ground

The "flying wedge" should be retained slightly longer after impact...good finish position

Keep working....hit half shots.."punch them" until you feel the compression

Ah got it! The "flying wedge" is something I've been working on actually and didn't know exactly what it was until now! I have been trying to keep from swaying and keep my angle the same going through the ball even after my swing bottoms out.

As far as my left foot, I usually lift it a bit but its natural, as is my left leg moving toward my right. I have fixed my lift from 4 inches to about 2 or so and it has helped my balance and weight transfer because of the stability. My right leg does need to be a little less collapsed I agree!

I have been striking the ball well lately and today was really good. I always feel compression of the ball as well.

Thanks

I managed to get a relatively decent image post-impact: That looks like some flipping, but not bad considering how far after impact that is. Certainly a position that's better than what I consistently have.

B-con - I see what you mean, I'll have to work on it. My distance has never been an issue though and I think its because its after impact just that split second.

Canadian Pro - Thanks I'll definitely use this!

Update with the driver, I have tried to square up my body which has helped, I have been aiming right and when my friend would put his club down on where my feet were aligned it was worse that I thought and so squaring up more feels different of course.

I have managed to make good contact and I am trying to come more from the inside at times. Here is a clip...

And it looks like I am aiming right but its the camera angle..

I have been working on a few things with my driver and I am pretty pleased with my overall performance and trajectory. I can hit 300 fairly easy now, plus I have a better suited shaft with my driver so I don't have to fight that anymore.

Let me know on what you see and what I can work on.

PS.. SORRY for the camera angle being far away.....

I've been Playing Golf for: 2 years

My current handicap index or average score is: 4.3

My typical ball flight is: Draw

Here is a video I took while playing a new course for the first time, shot a 78. It looks like my 3 and 4 iron is in the middle of my stance but its because of the angle my phone was propped up against the tee marker.

Let me know of some suggestions. Lately after getting another set of VR Pro Combo irons, I have been hitting the ball very nicely .

    • Day 9, May 13.  After work, I went to my practice room for a dozen balls (two sessions of a half dozen each).  I may do more later, but I wanted to make sure I posted here too.  Same priority as yesterday, with the arms lifting.
    • Day 263 6-13 Setup alignment stick station for hands off body drill. Worked on wrist arch as well. Working on not hitting the stick 😀
    • Day 64 (13 May 26) - last practice of golf team for the school golf team….got to hit a few balls while working with the kids.
    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)
