Nope-Do some reading.-Ball breaks doesnt even break half a cup on long putts on the grainiest of greens.
Don't you think that's obvious? Just enough to miss the putt if you don't take it into account.
Okay guys… Talk about the golf course itself, not grain please.

I was trying to!

Just saying - Crandon's greens are very grainy. I would strongly suggest you read that grain if you play it, for speed purposes...not so much for break purposes. Example, #8 is a short par-3, tabletop green. Grain runs consistent from the back of the green to the front. If you're past the hole good luck keeping the putt on the green. I dropped 10 balls there today & tried it.

Anyway, played it today. The course is relentless. There's no real let-up on it. A couple of holes are more 'breather' than the others, but it is just a real solid course. Can't fluke it around there.

Some pics of the course -

^^ 10th tee. Par 5 dogleg right. Bite off as much as you dare.

^^ Approach shot to 11. This is why I say it's a second-shot course.

^^ 12th green from the drop area (which I visit a lot). Tee is to the left. All carry to the green.

^^ Downtown Miami skyline from 18th fairway.

I was in late December and was going to play this gem. However, I tend to stay away from any course where caddies are mandatory. I don't understand why courses do that - it's such a turnoff.

I agree, especially since it's a public course. If you go off after 11am you don't have to take one.

I didn't know that, thanks. I do prefer playing in the morning though.
