I just wanna get everyone's opinion on your favorite, or worse, golf announcers.

My favorite is by far David Feherty, whether he's talking about golf or not, he always makes me laugh and is entertaining. And I've been watching a little Live from the US Open, and I must say Notah Begay should consider a career in announcing or commentating, his insight from being a former tour player is outstanding in my opinion. Just wanna see what everyone else thinks on the topic

I'm racking my brain for even one guy that makes me think, "Oh good, _________ is doing the broadcast today!"

I think Bobby Clampett and Ben Crenshaw were good, but since I haven't heard them in so long, they may not have been as good as I remember.

I like that these guys aren't just talking heads spewing out the obvious, especially Feherty.

I like Miller and thought Azinger was good when he was doing it. Ian Baker-Finch is painfully boring.

I agree. There isn't anyone I really dislike. I would say my favorite is Johnny Miller. A good example of this was during the final round of The Players this year he commented early in the round about players taking their putters out fom off the green. He said that putting through the closely mown areas would result in inconsistant shots and it's fine for the mid-handicapper but the tour pro should be chipping. I'll be damned if that didn't happen all day. The few times I saw a player chip even though it was a tough shot the results were better overall. I would have never picked up on that if Miller didn't make the observation.

Definitely not these guys broadcasting at usopen.com. Their mouths are running but no substance.

Feherty. McCord is decent, but he seems to talk weird. He will get in stretches where he goes: "Okay, we got the 6 iron and the pin is back and we're going to flight it down low and just put it in close......Well, that's not what we were trying to do...." Just sort of babbling.

Well I am gonna go for Chris Berman, as watching golf on ESPN with him reminds me of football.

I like Johnny Miller - tells it like it is, and Gary McCord - tells it like it should be.

Feherty is too much of a suck-up, and probably prays he won't ever be paired with McCord too often. Oh, the horror!

Well I am gonna go for Chris Berman, as watching golf on ESPN with him reminds me of football.

Berman is okay, but he needs to learn breath control. He talks forever without breathing, and then his voice tails off as he strains. I like Scott Van Pelt, but his catchphrase, "useful", just seems so, weird. Golf guys don't have catchphrases, he should leave it for SportsCenter.

I really like the guy Berman was with today, Roger Maltbie. His is like Johnny Miller minus the crazy. Great insight, knows the greens, and knows when not to talk. Mark Rolfing is good too, as are Bob Koch and some other CBS guy, I forget his name. Bigger guy, older, sort of bald, he isn't the main guy in the telecast, more like in Koch's position.

No doubt, we'll be hearing plenty of the Johnny and Roger show this weekend:

Johnny: "Roger, this put should break about 2 inches left, shouldn't it?" Roger: "I'd say about two inches. That's right, Johnny" Johnny: "Roger, this should be an easy wedge shot, right?" Roger: "I think so, Johnny." Johnny: "Roger, he hit that a groove low, didn't he" Roger: "About a groove low, that's right, Johnny." Can't wait.
