I just got an email from Golfsmith thanking me for my order from them with a ship date of today! "Total for order charged to your card =$0.00"

Got an order number and everything. I'm pumped! I'm sure the rest of the participants out there should get a email soon

Yep, it was handled very well from my perspective. I noticed that in the next iteration of their promotions, they picked less likely golfers for the winner, and explicitly capped the payouts to the first 10,000 entrants. I think they (or really, their insurers) got a bit burned by this one....

I'm in the same boat, I've been driving myself crazy thinking about what I should get when I sell it. A driver of course being the first thing "but what else could I squeeze in" I keep thinking haha

Yeah, well I've already pretty much spent it, so it makes it that much less appealing. But I was clever: I bought it in exactly the same specs as my FT-iQ driver, so I can't use the excuse that I want to toy with a different shaft or loft. So we'll see if that works.....

what is this win with phil thing, how does it work and why are people geting free drivers,lol

Golfsmith had a promotion where they'd refund your purchase of a Callaway driver (FT-iz and maybe another model) or send you one free if Phil Mickelson won the Masters. I'm afraid it's far too late if you didn't already enter... but if you'd like to buy a brand new FT-iz, drop me a line

In hindsight I wish I would have. I didn't think about possibly selling it if I won it untill after I won it lol But I coulda got a lot more bang for my buck (Or $0.44 postage stamp) if I would have opted for a tour model.

Update on promotion fulfillment. Got my golfsmith box and poped it open, got the driver out with headcover (everything as specified on my mail-in form). But there's more! Heard a little something at the bottom of the box so I tipped it up to look into it and see what it was and almost got popped in the face by some Callaway Tour i( z ) golf balls; nice bonus! Also got a 15% off a $99 or more purchase coupon for Golfsmith. Well handled promotion, fantastic fullfilment, many props to Golfsmith.

That is a great marketing scheme by GolfSmith. They know full well that Phil has a terrible record at the Open.

If the weather isn't perfect, there is no way Phil would even contend next week.

I've started trying to sell mine, but I'm keeping the balls! I really want to try it out, but I promised my wife that the proceeds from the sale would cover the greens fees from a recent golf trip ... Also, I want to be able to sell it with the packaging intact, so for now it sits in the closet where it doesn't tempt me.
