I'm an early morning guy too. Played last week at 5:45. Was headed home by 10am.

I like playing early. Lot easier on family, faster play, better greens, less wind and heat. My favorite is around 630 to 730.

2 is a little late for me but any earlier than 10 is crazy to me.

In Australia, Saturday and midweek competitions usually have tee times strating at 6.30. In addition to meaning more people can play, a lot of guys have commitments in the afternoon, like their kids' sporting fixtures etc. If I rang a club other than my own, seeking a tee time before 9.00 am on a Saturday comp, I'd probably be laughed at.

For me, anything later than 9 is too late. Only problem is dew in the winter, but it's a beautiful time to play year round, and Australia in summer, afternoons can be so hot, that it's probably bad for your health - the only people who ride in carts here are the elderly, infirm or beginners.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I won my game yesterday for my team so now I'm playing in another competition with my team on Wednesday. One problem. I have to be there for

Early? The tournament I played in today started the first group at 6:54 (my tee time was 8:06). And that's already 1½ hours after the first tee time at 5:30. When i work the morning shift in the starter booth, I have to be there at 5:00.

Today the early players got the best deal... by noon it was over 100° F., with not more than a hint of a breeze. We finished at 12:30 and what a relief to get in out of the heat. The late starters had to be dying out there.

I'll echo the others in here who like early times. I've regularly gotten the first (~5:45) tee time at a local course this summer and it's been great to get finished before it heats up. I'm averaging ~2:30 a round, which is also nice. I like to play at a quick pace.

Only drawback is when there's heavy dew on the greens. Watching the water spin off the ball as it rolls to a stop well short of the hole is frustrating...but at least it's easy to tell exactly what my line was.

Out here between late May and mid September you would appreciate an early tee time in the desert.

This is the best part about playing early. If I'm by myself I can zoom around the course in 2 hours!

Summer in Florida you have to play early. I usually try to tee off by 8:00 because by the time I get done at noon it's 98deg with tons of humidity. Plus, it rains nearly every afternoon during the summer.
